TV Casting: AGENT CARTER, STRANGER THINGS, Henry Czerny in SUPERGIRL

Agent Carter, Stranger Things, Supergirl, and other TV productions have made recent TV show casting, TV movie casting, and TV directing news. These shows and movies air on TNT, Showtime, and NBC.

Sherilyn Fenn is set for a recurring role on the upcoming sixth season of Showtime’s dramedy Shameless in a recasting. She will play Queen, an earthy, sensual, flouncy, flamboyant and joyous woman who had a brief encounter with Frank (William H. Macy) on top of a washing machine when both were high on mushrooms at 16. The encounter produced a now-adult daughter, Sammi (Emily Bergl). Queenie is a force of nature, a grandmother many times over who loves to be naked, grows organic vegetables, has lived on a commune for years and, while she claims to be an organic farmer, makes her real living off of a massive pot grow operation. Fenn replaces Kelly LeBrock who was originally cast in the role.

BrainDead (CBS)

Johnny Ray Gill has booked a series regular role in BrainDead…Gill will play Gustav. An intuitive, eccentric genius, Gustav is the first in D.C. to recognize that there might be alien spawn attacking the Capital. Gustav has a million conspiracy theories but occasionally is totally right, which makes him Laurel(Mary Elizabeth Winstead)’s valuable accomplice.

The Ranch (Netflix)

Kelli Goss…has been cast in a recurring role opposite Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson in the Netflix comedy The Ranch…Goss…will be playing [Ashton Kutcher’s] love interest.

Supergirl (CBS)

Henry Czerny will be joining the cast of Supergirl in the guest star role of “Winslow Schott,” better known to comic book fans as the Toyman

Czerny is only booked for one episode.

In Supergirl Warner Bros. says, “Winslow Schott, Sr. is a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius known as Toyman – and Winn’s estranged father. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak destruction and revenge but is ultimately driven by one thing – the obsessive desire to reunite with his beloved son.”

Agent Carter (ABC)

Kurtwood Smith…will play Vernon Masters, a veteran of the War Department with a keen understanding of how to work the system.

Stranger Things (Netflix)

Netflix’s new supernatural drama “Stranger Things” has added Matthew Modine to the cast

[Winona Ryder] will play the boy’s single mother while [David Harbour] will play the town’s chief of police, tasked with investigating the disappearance. Modine has been cast in the role of Dr. Martin Brenner, a brilliant, enigmatic scientist who may or may not be connected to the boy’s mysterious disappearance.
