Helstrom

Daniel Cudmore has been cast as Keith Spivey, “a nurse at St. Teresa’s where Daimon and Ana’s mother, Victoria, has been institutionalized for the last 20 year.”

Helstrom‘s plot synopsis: “Helstrom follows Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills.”

The Orville

Anne Winters has been cast as Charly Burke.

She joins cast that already includes: Seth MacFarlane, Adrianne Palicki, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Coleman, and Jessica Szohr.

Seth MacFarlane is the writer of this TV series.

Kung Fu (Remake)

Christina M. Kim has been hired to write a reimagining of Kung Fu “with a female lead of the 1970s David Carradine-starring TV series”.

Kung Fu‘s plot synopsis: “a quarter-life crisis causes a young Chinese-American woman to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to find her hometown overrun with crime and corruption, she uses her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice…all while searching for the assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.

Emma

AnnaSophia Robb has been cast as Emma, “a young woman (Robb) down on her luck and pregnant under mysterious circumstances.”

Emma‘s plot synopsis: “Emma follows the dark journey of a young woman (Robb) down on her luck and pregnant under mysterious circumstances. She must deal with the increasingly disturbing effects of her pregnancy and the potential conspiracy surrounding it.”

Ben Ketai wrote the screenplays for the Mary Harron-directed TV series.

Bloodlands

James Nesbitt has been cast as Tom Brannick, a Northern Irish police detective “who connects a suicide note with an infamous cold case with enormous personal significance. The discovery sparks an explosive hunt for a legendary assassin.”

Chris Brandon wrote the screenplay for the Pete Travis-directed TV series.

Netflix

The Wilds

Rachel Griffiths has been cast as Gretchen Klein, “an ambitious intellectual who runs an all-girls empowerment retreat.”

David Sullivan has been cast as Dr. Daniel Faber, “an FBI trauma specialist. He’s a pro at putting his interviewees at ease and extracting valuable information from them.”

Troy Winbush has been cast as FBI Agent Dean Young, “a stoic and authoritative—though not unkind—professional, Agent Dean Young is a seasoned investigator.”

Sophia Ali has been cast as Fatin Jadmani, “a proudly promiscuous girl with an audacious fashion sense. When she doesn’t pull her weight on the island, the others mistake her for a good-for-nothing slacker. But if they knew her past, they’d realize nothing could be further from the truth.”

Sarah Pidgeon has been cast as Leah Rilke, who is “mature beyond her years, creative and brooding with an overactive mind, Leah is somewhat of a loner who prefers reading, writing, and observing the world around her. Leah makes an unexpected connection with a famous author twenty years her senior, and a risqué relationship develops between them.”

Jenna Clause has been cast as Martha Blackburn, a “timid animal lover with a big heart and shaky self-esteem, Martha will face challenges on the island that will force her out of her shell.”

Erana James has been cast as Toni Shalifoe, “a tomboy with anger issues, Toni Shalifoe feels like everyone is out to screw her over…since almost everyone in her life has. Despite her aggression, Toni has a softer side and a great capacity for love, as evidenced by her fierce loyalty to her best friend Martha.”

These actors and actresses join already cast: Mia Healey, Helena Howard, Reign Edwards, and Shannon Berry.

The Wilds‘ plot synopsis: “Part survival drama, part dystopic slumber party, The Wilds follows a group of teenage girls from radically different backgrounds after an airplane crash strands them on a deserted island.”

Sarah Streicher wrote the screenplays for the TV series.

Susanna Fogel directed the pilot episode of this TV series.

From Scratch

Zoe Saldana has been cast as Tembi Locke, “an American woman as she falls in love with a Sicilian man while studying abroad in Italy.”

From Scratch‘s plot synopsis: based on the memoir by Tembi Locke,  “From Scratch is a sweeping, autobiographical romance that follows an American woman as she falls in love with a Sicilian man while studying abroad in Italy then builds a life with him in the United States. When she unexpectedly loses him to illness, she is challenged to pull herself through grief so she can raise their daughter as they would have raised her together: with hope, joy and infinite love.”
