ITV…is going ahead with Marcella, an eight-part multi-stranded crime drama written by Hans Rosenfeldt.

Set in contemporary London, Marcella aims to bring Scandinavian noir to the streets of Britain. The title character is a detective in her late 30s who returns to the Metropolitan Police’s Murder Squad after a 12-year career break to start a family.

With the abrupt end to her marriage and isolated from her daughter at boarding school, Marcella returns to work while attempting to make sense of what’s happened in her life. She is immediately assigned to investigate a spate of recent killings which bear the hallmarks of unsolved murders committed over a decade prior, a case on which she first worked in 2003. Has the killer reappeared or is a copycat murderer responsible for these recent deaths? Marcella will delve into the psychology of a single female detective working solo on a serial murder case with many potential suspects and victims.

The Crown (Netflix)

John Lithgow has been cast as Sir Winston Churchill in Netflix original series The Crown, and Claire Foy and Matt Smith have been confirmed as Queen Elizabeth II and Philip Mountbatten, Duke of Edinburgh, respectively

The Night Manager (AMC)

Russell Tovey, Alistair Petrie and Douglas Hodge are joining the cast of AMC’s upcoming limited series “The Night Manager.”

The actors join previously announced cast members Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman and Tom Hollander.

NCIS: New Orleans (CBS)

NCIS: New Orleans is expanding its regular cast with the promotion of recurring players Shalita Grant and Daryl Mitchell.

Grant…plays Sonja Percy, a whip-smart ex-ATF agent who is used to — and most comfortable with — operating undercover and alone, and will now have to adapt to work as the newest NCIS Agent alongside Pride (Bakula) and his team. Wheelchair-bound Mitchell, who guest starred in 11 episodes, plays Patton Plame, a confident and brilliant Investigative Computer Specialist for NCIS, who has a long-standing competitive history with Agent Pride and a budding competitive rivalry with Forensic Scientist Sebastian Lund (Kerkovich).
