Universal and Death Row Pictures Team Up for an Upcoming Movie About Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg Biopic in the Works

Universal Pictures and Death Row Pictures, a newly formed movie company, have come together to bring the life story of Snoop Dogg to the movies.

Snoop Dogg is one of the most remarkable and prolific talents in the music industry due in part to his tremendous mainstream appeal. Now, Universal and Death Row Pictures are going to be behind the definitive biopic on the acclaimed artist’s life. It will be directed by the movie making genius Allen Hughes who was once part of the film-making team, The Hughes Brothers. This pair of directors (with Albert Hughes being the other brother) brought the acclaimed 1993 movie, Menace II Society, to the screen. They also made Dead Presidents and From Hell as well. Allen Hughes will be helming the Snoop Dog picture on his own as the two brothers have branched out over the years.

The multi-talented Snoop Dogg, contrary to popular belief, has quite a bit of movie experience under his belt alongside his successful rapping career. What’s most humorous is that he played the voice of “Cousin It” in the recent animated film, The Addams Family and its sequel. People wouldn’t normally peg him as a star of a family friendly movie but Snoop crushed the part and ran away with a hysterical voice-over turn in both of those Addams Family cartoon films.

In 2019, Snoop made the complete opposite of a family film with The Beach Bum, a wild, way out there movie that was directed by controversial filmmaker Harmony Korine (Spring Breakers). In 2001, Snoop made the horror film, Bones. Snoop Dogg has also had a lot of television credits as well including work he did for the shows, “King of the Hill,” “The L Word,” “Modern Family” and “Weeds,” to name a few.

This upcoming biopic on Snoop will give audiences a glimpse inside his life and will show us the man behind many, many credits on IMDB. This performer has constantly been working throughout the years and his resume shows it! Snoop Dogg attracts viewers and listeners from all different demographics and his appeal is limitless in terms of its reach. That makes the outlook for the future of the project about the musical artist’s life a potentially lucrative prospect.

If you’ve heard of Death Row Records, then you know where Death Row Pictures’ origins lie. As Dogg’s newly created Death Row Pictures takes on the new biopic alongside Universal, all eyes will be on the story of Snoop’s life when it comes out while all ears will be listening to the music which will eventually be chosen for the film’s soundtrack. His biopic is going to be one that will draw great interest as Snoop Dogg is one of the hardest working talents in the entertainment industry today.
