2014-2015 Release Dates: FAST & FURIOUS 7, BLACK SEA, LITTLE BOY

The Theatrical Release Schedule for Black Sea, Fast and Furious 7, and Little Boy have been revealed. The announced release dates and the adjusted release schedules are between 2014-2015. All the release dates are subject to change by their producers and/or their distributors.

Black Sea

Kevin Macdonald’s treasure hunt adventure Black Sea starring Jude Law as a submarine captain with a mutinous misfit crew will get a limited release January 23…Written by Dennis Kelly, Black Sea also stars Scoot McNairy, Ben Mendelsohn, Konstantin Khabenskiy and Michael Smiley. The only wide release dated that weekend is Universal’s Blumhouse thriller The Boy Next Door, directed by Rob Cohen and starring Jennifer Lopez.

Focus also unveiled two date changes today: Tarsem Singh’s sci-fi drama Selfless starring Ryan Reynolds and Michelle Dockery moves from February 27 to April 17, while Leigh Whannell’s Insidious: Chapter 3 slides from its spring date of April 3 to May 29. Both titles remain wide releases. Selfless will face off against Sony’s Paul Blart: Mall Cop and Disney doc Monkey Kingdom during the April 17-19 frame. Insidious: Chapter 3, starring Dermot Mulroney, will be up against Paramount’s Chris Wedge toon Monster Trucks.

Fast & Furious 7

Fast & Furious 7 now is set for April 3, which gives it an extra weekend of play before the April 17 debut of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. F&F7‘s new opening-weekend competition will be Fox romancer The Longest Ride. James Wan is directing this installment of the blockbuster series, which again stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker — in his last film — Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster…Jason Statham, Djimon Hounsou and Kurt Russell.

Little Boy

Open Road Films has set a a February 27, 2015 release date for Little Boy, the inspirational family film directed by Alejandro Monteverde that was executive produced by Roma Downey and Mark Burnett…Emily Watson, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin James, Ben Chaplin, Michael Rapaport, Cary Tagawa, Ted Levine, David Henrie, Eduardo Verastegui and Jakob Salvati star.

It joins three other wide releases so far on that date: Warner Bros’ Will Smith comedy Focus, Fox’s video game adaptation Hitman: Agent 47 starring Rupert Friend (who replaced Paul Walker), and Focus Features’ Ryan Reynolds sci-fi pic Selfless.
