Expiration, The Killer, and other films have all made recent film casting, screenwriting, and director news. These films come from movie studios primarily based in the United States. The castings, screenwriters, and directors are subject to change.

Daughter of God

Keanu Reeves and Spain-based Ana De Armas will star in Gee Malik Linton’s mystery-thriller “Daughter of God,” which begins lensing this November.

Linton penned the script about a young Latina woman (de Armas) who experiences strange happenings after witnessing a miracle, as a police detective (Reeves) searches for the truth behind his partner’s death.

We Watched the Sun Disappear

Jonas Arnby…is set to direct “We Watched the Sun Disappear.”

Profile Pictures, the Copenhagen-based company founded by Jacob Jarek, Ditte Milsted and Thor Sigurjonsson in late 2011, is producing.

Penned by Irish scribe Michael Kinirons…It centers around a Danish rescue expedition that had gone horribly wrong, leaving two men isolated in Greenland, struggling against cold, a hostile environment and each other.

director Nick Cassavetes [will] helm Expiration, the action-thriller scripted by Broken City scribe Brian Tucker…Story follows an ex-CIA operative turned assassin who fails his assignment when he’s poisoned, and sets out to find his killer and settle the score with just 20 hours left to live.

Untitled Peggy Lee film

The untitled Peggy Lee film starring Reese Witherspoon is back on, with Far From Heaven helmer Todd Haynes directing.

Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife) picked up the reins and did a rewrite of the [Nora Ephron ] screenplay.

The Killer

Pierre Morel is on board to direct The Killer

The Killer (The Hunter in the U.K.) centered on an assassin who had no last name and about whom very little was known.

While the plot is something spy-thriller fans may have seen before — a hitman on the run, chased and double-crossed by many parties — the book was widely praised for having a charismatic lead and for the creativity of the relentless action.
