Julius Ramsay‘s Midnighters (2017) movie trailer stars Alex Essoe, Perla Haney-Jardine, Dylan McTee, Ward Horton, and Joseph Lee Anderson. Midnighters‘ plot synopsis: “Midnight, New Year’s Eve: when all the hopes of new beginnings come to life – except for Lindsey and Jeff Pittman, whose strained marriage faces the ultimate test after they cover up a terrible crime and find themselves entangled in a Hitchcockian web of deceit and madness.”

The trailer (and the film presumably) seem to start out in pure simplicity until a tragic event happens that throws everyone’s life into turmoil. Most people in the Jeff Pittman (Dylan McTee) and Lindsey Pittman (Alex Essoe)’s position would have called 911 the moment after the incident happened. Not the Pittmans.

If your plan is to keep the dead body and hide it, why not bury it? Why keep it in your garage? It was one strange decision followed by another in this trailer. I really hope Midnighters answers the aforementioned questions. The infamous hitman The Ice Man would have frozen the body and then buried it years later (throwing off the police as to the time of death).

The trailer turned into A Simple Plan when the detective showed to ask “few questions.” If you have seen A Simple Plan, you are cognizant of what I am alluding to by my reference. Simplicity goes out the window pretty quickly in this film, which is a good thing (if written correctly, with an eye towards logic and suspense).

Midnighters also stars Andrew Rothenberg, George Barber, Jessica Noboa, David Spadora, K.C. Faldasz, William Bloomfield, and Ralph Petrarca.
