CTRL ALT DEL: Former Television Superstar Jason Priestley Boards Upcoming Dramatic Film

Jason Priestley Dear Christmas

Jason Priestley Returns to Movies with Forthcoming Drama

One-time “Beverly Hills 90210” heartthrob, Jason Priestley, has joined the cast of the Kit Williamson dramatic picture, Ctrl Alt Del.

Jason Priestley of “Beverly Hills 90210” will be making a return to the movies with a serious new film titled, Ctrl Alt Del. Priestley never quite became a big Hollywood movie star but has remained a respectable actor during the duration of his career thus far. He recently played in the romantic Lifetime television movie, “Dear Christmas,” where he starred in a love story with Melissa Joan Hart of “Clarissa Explains it All” fame. His latest project, however, will be a complete 180 degree turn from that particular role.

Ctrl Alt Del is going to be a heavy dramatic film that tells the story of a filmmaker named Greyson (Priestley) whose teenage daughter Ava must confront regarding the fact that a tragedy has occurred that has been linked to Greyson’s science fiction picture. This film promises to explore complex themes such as the responsibilities of the media to make appropriate content. Priestley probably has not had a role this substantial in quite some time.

In 1993, Priestley was all set up to become a movie star. He was in a late summer movie called Calendar Girl in which the actor played the principal role. Set in the early 1960’s, the movie bombed big-time at the box-office earning just a mere $2 million and a dismal “C+” CinemaScore grade. His chances of mainstream success outside of the television series that made him a star, “Beverly Hills 90210,” seemed pretty unlikely.

In 1998, Jason Priestley made a comeback of sorts, however, when he excelled playing a juicy role opposite screen legend John Hurt in Love and Death on Long Island. Though the film earned just $2 million, it played on less screens than Calendar Girl and had a strong reaction from critics who praised Priestley for his work portraying a character not unlike his persona on the hit TV show that made him famous.

The new picture, Ctrl Alt Del, will give Priestley a chance to expand on his formidable talent which has been evident in some of his television work throughout the years. Although he did do the cornball but enjoyable “Dear Christmas,” the actor also has a lot of dramatic acting abilities that will suit his emotional part in the upcoming picture.

It is no surprise that Priestley is a two-time Golden Globe nominee and, now, he is back in the spotlight and, as his latest film rolls into production, all his fans are looking forward to seeing the actor’s latest role. Sadly, Priestley’s main co-star on “Beverly Hills 90210,” Luke Perry passed away in 2019.

Ctrl Alt Del promises a story full of complexity and drama that should prove to be a piece of film-making which will be worth looking out for.
