David Harbour in Talks to Star with Pedro Pascal in Tony Gilroy’s ‘Behemoth!’

David Harbour is in talks to star alongside Pedro Pascal in Tony Gilroy’s upcoming project for Searchlight Pictures, Behemoth!. Gilroy, a filmmaker who has established himself as one of Hollywood’s most accomplished screenwriters, is known for penning titles such as Armageddon, The Bourne Trilogy, and Michael Clayton. With Behemoth!, he will serve as both writer and director, further solidifying his reputation as a filmmaker capable of balancing large-scale storytelling with character-driven drama.
Harbour continues to move between blockbuster features and prestige television. Earlier this year, he appeared in Marvel’s Thunderbolts*, and he is set to return to Netflix for the final season of Stranger Things. His performance as Jim Hopper has earned him two Golden Globe nominations and a devoted audience, marking a career-defining role that showcased his ability to combine emotional vulnerability with grounded intensity.
Pascal remains one of the busiest actors working today. His 2025 slate includes Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps and the second season of HBO’s The Last of Us, which debuted to mixed critical reception but drew significant attention. He also starred in Ari Aster’s latest feature, Eddington, and appeared in the romantic dramedy Materialists alongside Chris Evans and Dakota Johnson. Pascal’s range across genres has kept him consistently at the forefront of audience and industry demand.
Plot details for Behemoth! remain under wraps, though Gilroy has indicated in interviews that the story centers on a cello player. In addition to writing and directing, Gilroy will produce the film with Sanne Wohlenberg. The project is currently in pre-production, with principal photography scheduled to begin this fall in Los Angeles. Searchlight has not yet announced a release date.
