LOVE ME (2024): Bleecker Street and ShivHans Obtain US Rights to Kristen Stewart’s Latest Film

Bleecker Street and ShivHans Obtain Unique Film for US Release
Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun‘s latest film, Love Me, will be released in the United States by Bleecker Street which just recently picked up the rights alongside ShivHans.
An Alfred P. Sloan award-winning feature from Sundance, Love Me, has found a home in the United States at Bleecker Street Films which will be releasing the picture in the beginning of 2025. A love story with tremendous complexity and depth, Love Me, stars Kristen Stewart and Steven Yeun. It has been publicized that the film takes place over “billions of years.” The characters are no ordinary ones in the film and they start out as machines as the film chronicles their transition into “human beings” over a very long period of time.
Sam and Andy Zuchero, who are actually married in real life, are the film-making duo at the heart of the film, Love Me. It features the sort of high-concept story line that could be hit-or-miss thanks to the weight of the movie’s central topic. The international rights for the upcoming picture are going to be shopped around at Cannes. The filmmakers are excited that Bleecker Street has come on board the film to help launch it in the States.
Kristen Stewart has had an excellent year so far with Love Lies Bleeding doing rather well at the specialty box-office and garnering a tremendous amount of critical acclaim. Love Me pairs Stewart with Yeun (of “Beef” fame). Bleecker Street and ShivHans are putting their faith in the upcoming former Sundance film which the companies seem to believe in wholeheartedly. A theatrical release is quite likely for the new picture although it is not certain as of yet how wide that release will actually be.
Featuring a story driven in large part by AI, Love Me features two masters of the acting game when considering the talents of Stewart and Yeun (he’s mostly known in film for his work in Nope and the Oscar-nominated Minari). Love Me, though, has been met with mixed reviews due to its complicated story line despite its popularity at Sundance. It currently holds a less than 50% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyone who knows the projects that Stewart and Yeun choose is well aware of the challenging and ambitious films the stars have tackled in the past. Love Me certainly fits right in on these stars’ resumes.
Though Bleecker Street could use a big box-office hit, Love Me, may be more of an art house specialty type of picture in the grand scheme of things. Given the impressive financial performances of Stewart and Yeun’s previous recent movies, though, Love Me should open strongly and could pick up momentum as word of mouth on the timely and ambitious film spreads.
