Kevin Smith Has Finished ‘Mallrats 2’ Script and Shares Details

This week filmmaker Kevin Smith announced via Instagram that he has finished the Mallrats 2 script, ‘Twilight of the Mallrats’, while in Quarantine.

It has been 25 years after the original cult classic film and over the last few years, the writer, actor, and director, Kevin Smith, has been teasing that he had been working on a script for it, but it was never finished. However, due to the stay at home order during the coronavirus pandemic, Smith has been busy writing! He finished the first draft of the script and shared some details with his followers.

In the Instagram post, Smith reveals that “Brodie Bruce will be back for an unnecessary sequel set against the Mallpocalypse! Rene, Willam, Gwen, Brandy, T.S., Trish, Mr. Svenning, LaFours and the rebooted Jay and Silent Bob are the returning ‘Rats in an Askewniverse imagining about what happens when the sidewalk sales end, and “happily ever after” is easier to say than live!” Though it’ll be several months till production can even begin, he announced that he recorded an entire episode about ‘Twilight of the Mallrats’ for his new podcast ‘Silent Bob Speaks’. In the mean time, while still in quarantine, Smith shares the next two scripts he will be focusing on finishing, ‘Moose Jaws’ and ‘Clerks 3’.
