Xochitl Gomez Wins the Mirrorball Trophy

Young Marvel film actress, Xochitl Gomez, along with her dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, has taken the Mirrorball Trophy on “Dancing with the Stars.

Xochitl Gomez garnered many fans when she appeared opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in 2022’s box-office blockbuster, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now, she has added a Mirrorball Trophy to her impressive resume after appearing with Val on “Dancing with the Stars” where the pair beat the likes of stars like Jason Mraz and Alyson Hannigan and emerged victorious. Oscar winner Mira Sorvino was also on this season’s shows but she was eliminated fairly early on in the contest.

As the fictional character, America Chavez, in the aforementioned Doctor Strange film, Xochitl Gomez seemed like she could become a very big star in the movies and her win as a dancer makes her capable of doing a great variety of different roles in upcoming movies. A “Young Avengers” project should certainly be on the horizon but there could be more fine parts on the way for the distinguished and talented Gomez as the years progress.

Gomez is an accomplished young talent in more ways than one. With her most recent foxtrot and freestyle dances, she has proven she has what it takes to effectively shake it and move it on the dance floor. Gomez got perfect scores all night during the course of the season finale of DWTS which aired last evening. Judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough alongside viewers all over the country were tremendously fond of Gomez’s graceful dance work throughout the season.

Xochitl Gomez and Val’s memorable “Redemption Foxtrot” was a true classic last night. These two dancers commanded attention on the dance floor. In case she wasn’t before winning the Mirrorball, Gomez is now a bona fide “star” in her own right, especially given the fact that she has mastered a supporting performance in a major Hollywood Marvel movie last year and has now taken a trophy right out from under other film, music and television stars.

Some people had believed that television and movie star, Alyson Hannigan of American Pie fame, would have gotten eliminated before the final rounds that aired last night but she held her own on the dance floor and ultimately made her way into the very last dances of the competition where Gomez ultimately reigned triumphant alongside Val.

It’s anyone’s guess as to whether or not Gomez will go on to even bigger film projects in the future. For now, she’s in a pretty nice place finishing first in one of the most intense “Dancing with the Stars” competitions in recent years. Singer Jason Mraz was Gomez’s fiercest competitor and, alongside his partner, Daniella came in second in the rankings right behind Xochitl and Val.
