MEN OF DIVORCE: Griffin Dunne Will Topline Upcoming Noah Pritzker Comedy

Griffin Dunne

Griffin Dunne to Star in Forthcoming Comedy

Griffin Dunne will be appearing in an upcoming movie from acclaimed filmmaker, Noah Pritzker, titled Men of Divorce.

No matter what role you’ve seen Griffin Dunne in, he’s consistently one of the most remarkably underappreciated actors working today. He’s also a director as well who in the late 1990’s had two terrifically funny romantic comedies (Addicted to Love and Practical Magic) released by Warner Bros. His latest project that he will be starring in, Men of Divorce, is especially noteworthy to his fans who remember him from his most respected lead role to date. That part was in the 1985 Martin Scorsese masterpiece, After Hours. In filmmaker Noah Pritzker (Quitters)’s upcoming picture, Dunne has been cast alongside his After Hours co-star, Rosanna Arquette.

Men of Divorce will be a project from Play Book Productions and Pimienta Films. The storyline of the picture will center on Peter Pearce (Dunne) who has divorced Maria (Arquette). Also dealing with his father (Richard Benjamin)’s medical issues, Peter decides to go to Tulum where a surprise bachelor party is being held which will reunite some other key people as well. This film is shooting in New York City and Tulum.

Dunne and Rosanna Arquette were movie magic together in the dark 1985 comedy, After Hours, where their characters had just the right amount of quirkiness to make them intriguing and watchable. Their most famous scene together in that film was set in a diner as Arquette’s character explained her old boyfriend’s obsession with a line from The Wizard of Oz which he used during sex. The 1985 film is a masterpiece which won much acclaim in the days of its initial release especially from Roger Ebert who loved it.

While Dunne has been recently seen on TV’s “This is Us,” he was also one of the more prolific talents of the 1980’s and 1990’s whether he was behind the camera or in front of it. In 2003, he appeared in a memorable cameo in the hilarious movie buff’s comedy, Stuck on You. Dunne’s new movie will be centered around the topic of divorce which is always a topic which can create some humorous situations within a particular story line.

Arquette is also of note for her roles in the Madonna film, Desperately Seeking Susan, and David Cronenberg’s 1997 oddity, Crash. Dunne also played opposite Madonna, himself, in Who’s That Girl? While Men of Divorce is in production, it may be of great interest to check out Dunne’s work in the gem, After Hours, which is one of the best films of all-time. Seeing Dunne joining forces with Arquette again will be great and Men of Divorce could end up as a nice companion piece to Scorsese’s classic picture.
