MRS. CLAUS: Jennifer Garner Will Be Starring in an Upcoming Netflix Holiday Comedy

Jennifer Garner Yes Day

Mrs. Claus To Feature Jennifer Garner in Central Role

Jennifer Garner is set to star in and produce a new holiday-themed Netflix movie from Hello Sunshine called Mrs. Claus.

Holiday comedies are always a good thing since viewers can laugh and feel festive during a given season. Now, streaming viewers can anticipate the return of Jennifer Garner in an upcoming, feel-good movie called Mrs. Claus. Garner will not only star in it but produce it as well. Garner has made immensely popular movies for Netflix in the past such as Yes Day and Family Switch, not to mention The Adam Project.

What makes Mrs. Claus stand out from other typical movies from the giant streamer is that it is going to be written by Leah McKendrick who stunned the movie world with her independent gem called Scrambled which was released earlier this year through Lionsgate. In addition to a script by the up-and-coming McKendrick, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine will be producing the upcoming Netflix comedy. Hello Sunshine’s Witherspoon thought Garner would be a good fit for the role in Mrs. Claus.

Garner is also working on the big screen as well and will be playing Elektra in the hugely awaited Marvel movie, Deadpool & Wolverine which is coming out this July. McKendrick is also working on the high-profile “requel” for I Know What You Did Last Summer. McKendrick proved she was a great talent with the funny and sharp movie, Scrambled, which was a success with many critics who enjoyed her work both in front of the camera and behind it on the very funny picture. Scrambled holds a 94% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The plot of Mrs. Claus is not being too widely revealed at this particular point in time. It’s easy to speculate that Garner will be playing Santa Claus’s wife but no facts support that assertion at this moment. With McKendrick penning the script, anything is possible as the scribe proved with Scrambled that unpredictability is her specialty with her wholly original sense of humor.

Jennifer Garner has done comedies for a while now. Many loved her work in 2004’s hit, 13 Going on 30. Garner appeared in the high profile 2010 comedy, Valentine’s Day, as well, playing opposite heavy hitters like Julia Roberts and Anne Hathaway. Garner has a knack for physical humor and Mrs. Claus will be a welcome addition to her resume as well as a perfectly themed film for the holiday season in which it will be released. With the combined talents of Garner and McKendrick, expect a Netflix picture that will surprise viewers and not be a run-of-the-mill holiday comedy.
