ANIMALS: Jennifer Garner in Negotiations to Appear Opposite Matt Damon in Ben Affleck’s Netflix Film

Jennifer Garner Family Switch

Jennifer Garner May Star in Ex Husband Ben Affleck’s Latest Film

Jennifer Garner may be re-uniting with ex-husband, Ben Affleck, in Affleck’s next film as director, a Netflix thriller titled, Animals.

Jennifer Garner has found a nice home at Netflix and may be doing her next project there as well. The 13 Going on 30 star, Garner, recently appeared in Family Leave, a goofball body switch comedy which was a big hit for the popular streamer. Now, the actress is currently in negotiations to appear in a key role in director Ben Affleck’s latest dramatic suspense film, Animals.

Matt Damon seems to have landed the principal role in Animals. Damon and Affleck are the founders of the film’s production company, Artists Equity. In the upcoming aforementioned film, Damon will portray a politician running for mayor whose son is kidnapped. Garner is in talks to play his wife. The film’s story line revolves around the formidable extents the husband and wife must go through in order to not only get their son back but to keep Damon’s character in the running for the mayoral race.

Garner is no stranger to working with Netflix, as previously stated. She also made a successful comedy for them titled Yes Day not too long ago and she also co-starred in a smash called The Adam Project which was, surprisingly, a successful endeavor for the streamer. Since Affleck and Garner were once married, it is interesting to report that they would still be working together on Animals if the terms of a contract are successfully met. If Garner accepts the role, it would be the first time she was actually directed on screen by her ex-husband. The pair played together in films before but they were always directed by other people.

It seems that the casting of Garner and Damon in a political thriller would be an unstoppable combo. Adding Affleck to the mix as the film’s director would make this project one of the most eagerly awaited Netflix movies in recent years, especially given its volatile story line. Damon and Affleck last collaborated on Air for Amazon which was an Oscar bait movie which failed to yield a single Academy Award nomination despite being one of last year’s very best films.

As one waits patiently for Animals, keep in mind that Garner will soon be seen in the next Deadpool movie which is titled Deadpool & Wolverine. In the sequel, Garner will be playing the superhero known as Elektra. Let’s hope that Garner finalizes her casting in the provocative Netflix drama, Animals, and the film starts shooting soon! Garner has been on a roll with her Netflix projects and this one will show her more serious side, if she takes the role.
