Sylvester Stallone Set to Return in Amazon Movie

Screen legend Sylvester Stallone will soon be starring in an Amazon Studios action/comedy film titled, Never Too Old to Die.

Amazon Studios has selected a new project for one-time Hollywood action hero, Sylvester Stallone. It is going to showcase a script by Brian F. Otting and is titled Never Too Old to Die. It will be an action/comedy hybrid. Stallone will also produce the picture which is going to be about a killing at a nursing home for spies. It will center on a Cold War hero’s attempts to discover the truth regarding the murder that occurs.

This upcoming movie will kick off a deal with Amazon in which Stallone will write, produce, direct and star in a various assortment of projects. Stallone has been working steadily these days and recently appeared in the superhero movie, Samaritan, which was a modest hit for Amazon on streaming. Stallone also has a hit show which is on Paramount Plus titled “Tulsa King.” Stallone will continue to be involved in big Hollywood blockbusters and is associated with upcoming films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and yet another addition in the surprisingly popular, The Expendables series.

In terms of the latter part of the one-time superstar Stallone’s career, in 1997, the performer showed his dramatic acting chops in the star-studded film Cop Land. That picture did well at the box-office but failed to yield Stallone an expected Oscar nomination. Stallone did, however, get an Oscar nomination for 2015’s Creed but lost out for Best Supporting Actor to Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies.

Stallone is best known for his role as “Rocky Balboa” in some very popular boxing-themed films. He made many exciting action pictures along the way like Cliffhanger and Daylight but also appeared in the Woody Allen comedy, Bananas early in his career as well. It is also noteworthy that the actor will be appearing on an upcoming family themed show called “The Family Stallone” this May. This docu-series will be shown on Paramount Plus.

While little is known of the plot of Never Too Old to Die, the basic premise seems like something that could suit the versatile Stallone’s abilities. There is also talk of bringing Stallone back into the Creed film series as well. That may be quite interesting for fans of those pictures which have just had a nice recent box-office run (without Stallone) thanks to the strong performance of Creed III. Stallone may not be playing Rambo again anytime soon but the actor has a lot of life left in him and could just find himself delivering some excellent performances in Amazon projects as he makes his way through the twilight of his career.
