Amy Adams Will Soon be Seen in a Wild Darkly Comic Film

Amy Adams will be back in movies again with the edgy dark comedy titled Nightbitch about a woman who may be turning into a dog.

Amy Adams is a true actress of the highest caliber. Her latest picture titled Nighbitch may seem like a bit of a departure for her from mainstream and Academy Award-worthy material. She could still emerge victorious nevertheless. She will embody the role of a mother who is struggling to maintain her sanity while raising a toddler alone. The main selling point here, however, is that she may be turning into a dog; hence the film’s title.

Nightbitch is adapted from an acclaimed novel of the same name by Rachel Yoder which came out a couple of years back. The prestigious book critics over at Kirkus Reviews hailed the book as “darkly funny.” This is the type of story line that will make for an interesting film because there are a lot of potential character developments that will keep the story line fascinating enough to maintain constant viewer interest.

Adams carefully selects her projects and usually gets Oscar nods for her work. Although 2014’s Tim Burton film, Big Eyes, wasn’t the biggest hit at the box-office, Adams was nothing short of amazing in it. She has received countless notices of recognition for her work in movies like American Hustle, Arrival and Nocturnal Animals. Adams recently appeared in the mediocre Disenchanted Disney sequel film but the actress is poised to make a dramatic comeback with the very dark Nightbitch.

Marielle Heller has directed the sure to be controversial, Nightbitch. Heller recently directed the 2019 film, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. That film got an “A” CinemaScore grade and it’s likely Nightbitch won’t be as well-received by general audiences thanks to its very unique and disturbing story line. However, given Adams’s involvement with the project, anything could happen.

It was in 2005 that Adams came on to the movie scene with her award-nominated work in the independent movie, Junebug. She’s been working steadily ever since with Enchanted from 2007 being one of her biggest box-office hits. Adams bounces back and forth between ambitious independent projects and more mainstream ones. In 2008, she played opposite Emily Blunt in the well-received indie Sunshine Cleaning but, more recently, Adams played Lois Lane in the big budget Justice League.

Could Nightbitch be Adams’ ticket back to the Oscars? We shall soon see. Adams wowed audiences in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master back in 2012 and was deserving of an Oscar back then. While no release date has been set as of yet for Nightbitch, expect great work from Adams whether she gets nominated again or not.
