Paramount Buys Drama ‘Mighty Oak’ for June Theatrical Film Release

Paramount has bought the musical comedy drama ‘Mighty Oak’ and plans to release the film in select theaters and drive-ins across the globe on June 5th.

As more states are planning and starting the re-opening process through the global corona-virus pandemic, the studio plans on releasing the film in even more locations. Mighty Oak is a comedy musical drama which stars Pretty Little Liars actress Janel Parrish as a music manager, Gina Jackson, who loses her brother and lead vocalist, Vaughn (portrayed by Levi Dylan), when he is killed in a tragic car accident. Ten years later, Gina comes across a 10-year-old music prodigy named Oak Scoggins (portrayed by Tommy Ragen), whose talents reminds her of her late brother and she can’t help but to believe that the child could possibly be her brother reincarnated, which inspires her to get her life back together.

The film is directed by Soul Surfer director, Sean McNamara and written by Matt Allen, who had also been on the Soul Surfer movie project with McNamara. The cast will also include: Alexa PenaVega, Raven-Symoné, and Carlos PenaVega.
