Sandra Hüller and Several Others Board Alejandro G. Iñàrritu’s Upcoming Tom Cruise Film

Alejandro G. Iñàrritu’s Tom Cruise Picture Adds Character Actors
Alejandro G. Iñàrritu‘s forthcoming Tom Cruise film, which has yet to be titled, has cast acclaimed performers like the great Sandra Hüller in key supporting roles.
Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures has a certain prestige project in the works and it has now become even more prestigious. Oscar-winner Alejandro G. Iñàrritu’s upcoming Tom Cruise starrer has cast the great Sandra Hüller, John Goodman, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde and Riz Ahmed in parts within the picture. Could Oscar glory be any closer for this project than this?
This film is said to be about a powerful man who tries to save humanity before a disaster destroys the world as we know it. It’s an ambitious premise under the helm of a brilliant filmmaker but the cast is ultimately going to be the film’s ticket to the Academy Awards ceremony that will honor the movies in the year in which this picture is ultimately released.
Cruise has never won an acting Oscar and his complex role in this film seems to have the possibility to lead him closer to a potential nomination at the very minimum. Hüller was up for the Best Actress Oscar last year for her incredible work in Anatomy of a Fall which was one of the most intriguing movies that was released in 2023. It is Hüller who seems to have the most potential to deliver awards-caliber work in the upcoming Cruise vehicle. However, the rest of the cast of recent additions should not be counted out either considering the history of their work.
John Goodman has always been an underappreciated actor who makes what he does look easy due to his natural charisma. He’s proven in Coen Brothers movies and TV’s “The Conners” that he has tremendous versatility as a performer. He also appeared in the Academy Award-winning movie, Argo.
Plemons has had a big year. He had a small part in Civil War and appeared in award-worthy work in the art house movie, Kinds of Kindness. He was nominated for an Oscar for 2021’s The Power of the Dog and also played in last year’s gem, Killers of the Flower Moon. Stuhlbarg has a history of appearing in dark movies in roles such as his work in Bones and All and the Oscar-winning The Shape of Water.
Sophie Wilde enjoyed a turn in last year’s A24 hit horror movie, Talk to Me, which was a much bigger hit in the U.S. and Canada than was originally anticipated. Wilde gave a “star is born” performance in that film which makes us antsy to see more of her work. Finally, Ahmed is best known for his Oscar nod for his deep acting in the 2020 masterpiece, Sound of Metal. If Anthony Hopkins and Chadwick Boseman weren’t nominated for that award, Ahmed may well have won the Academy Award.
Tom Cruise’s Oscar-bait film has everyone in Hollywood in great anticipation and with these new cast additions, it’s looking like someone will get nominated for the gold come Academy Award nomination time for this particular project.
