SAW X (2023): Forthcoming Horror Film Will Have an Intriguing Post-Credits Scene

Saw X to Have Post-Credits Sequence

Saw X will, unlike previous entries in the franchise, have a post-credits scene that will be of curiosity to fans of the horror series.

It’s not a sequel per se but rather more of a prequel of sorts to events that occurred in Saw II. It’s the upcoming Saw X, the tenth installment of the franchise which had chapters that came out annually back in the late 2000’s. This time out, though, there will be an after ending credits scene and many people are wondering what it will be.

Producer Mark Burg has hinted that, this time around, there will be characters back from previous Saw movies in the latest attempt to revitalize the Saw film universe. Shawnee Smith’s character, Amanda, was prevalent as a driving force in the early Saw movies. This after credits scene that is being talked about could tie in to her character somehow which will be a nice throwback for die-hard Saw series film fans.

Tobin Bell’s John Kramer’s struggles will come into light again in the new movie opening this weekend in theaters. Many people remember the signature line of the film series which is the movie’s scary puppet (who occasionally rides a small bicycle) asking characters in the series if they want to play a game. “Do you want to play a game” could be the tagline most associated with these Saw pictures.

Saw VI was one of the most successful Saw movies from a critical standpoint. Saw X seems to be following in that film’s footsteps with a story line of an uncovered miracle cure scam which triggers something of a revenge plan by Kramer. In Saw VI, the issues of insurance companies and unfair medical practices took flight which made the movie deviate from the other films in the series which focused more on complicated, deadly and sickening traps that were impossible for the characters in the franchise to escape from.

It has been reported that Saw X is among the longest (if not the longest), film(s) in the series clocking in at just under two hours. 118 minutes with credits, to be precise. I haven’t clocked the unrated editions of the Saw movies which may have featured enough extra footage to be just as long but Saw X promises to bring the thought-provoking nature of Saw VI back to the series.

Spiral (From The Book of Saw) opened in 2021 at the center of the pandemic and only made $23 million domestically. It would be nice for Saw X to make at least that much in its opening weekend to ensure that more scary movies in this franchise come into fruition. I, for one, can’t wait to hear the Saw theme again if the filmmakers have chosen to use it again this time around.
