ALIEN: COVENANT (2017): Release Date Changed & 5 Cast Members Added

Alien: Covenant New Release Date and Cast Member Additions. The release date for Ridley Scott‘s second prequel Alien film has been changed and five new cast members have been added to the space horror film. Originally, the film was supposed to be released on October 6, 2017. Now the film will be released on August 4, 2017.

With production on Alien: Covenant gearing up to begin next month in March, casting news is to be expected and there has been a flurry. Billy Crudup is in talks to join the film but five new cast members have officially signed on.

Callie Hernandez, Demian Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, and Amy Seimetz have all joined the cast of the film that currently includes: Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Jussie Smollett, and Danny McBride.

Alien: Covenant‘s plot synopsis: “Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
