Anne Hathaway Set to Work with Christopher Nolan Again

Anne Hathaway has been cast in director Christopher Nolan‘s upcoming 2026 film which is going to be from Universal Pictures.

The dream team of filmmaker Christopher Nolan and star Anne Hathaway will be joining forces for a third time in Nolan’s forthcoming 2026 theatrical release from Universal. The pair previously worked together on Nolan’s movies which were made at Warner Bros., The Dark Knight Rises and Interstellar (which was also a Paramount co-production) in 2012 and 2014, respectively. This new picture had previously cast Tom Holland and Matt Damon in principal roles. The exciting icing on the cake is that Zendaya will also be boarding the project as well.

This new Nolan film is set to bow in theaters on July 17, 2026 and it will be available in both IMAX and regular prints. There’s not much information known about the project yet except for the cast, the director and the studio that will be producing the picture. Shooting will begin on this new project in the early part of next year.

Anne Hathway needs no introduction. She has been a Hollywood actress to contend with for over two decades. Her career shot off to stardom with her work in The Princess Diaries and she won an Academy Award for her work in the best film version of Les Miserables to date. She is an artist unafraid to take risks as evidenced in her role in last year’s daring independent film, She Came to Me. She was nominated for an Oscar for her leading acting in the 2008 smart and wonderful gem, Rachel Getting Married as well.

Zendaya, the other new addition to the cast, is known for her work in Spider-Man films but, this year, she wowed viewers in the tennis love triangle movie, Challengers, for which many believe she may soon receive a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Zendaya has also flourished in her work in the two recent Dune movies.

While Anne Hathaway and Nolan re-teaming is certainly the biggest news, Zendaya’s addition to the cast is intriguing in its own right. Zendaya and the other star of Nolan’s new film, Tom Holland, played in the box-office blockbuster, Spider-Man: No Way Home, together.

Matt Damon’s presence in the upcoming movie, which was announced earlier this year, certainly gives the new project some serious Oscar potential but, then again, so does the presence of the ever-reliable Hathway. Nolan may not win Best Director again for this new project but, at this point, what, exactly, Nolan’s new film is about is almost a total mystery.
