Taylour Paige Set to Appear in Eddie Murphy Netflix Sequel

One of Hollywood’s brightest character actresses, Taylour Paige, is slated to appear in the forthcoming sequel, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.

Zola‘s breakout star, Taylour Paige, has joined the cast of the hugely anticipated Eddie Murphy picture for Netflix, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. When A24 released Zola last summer, Paige was automatically crowned a future movie star for her fine work opposite Riley Keough in that acclaimed movie. Just a couple of weeks ago, Mack & Rita was released which featured Paige in a juicy supporting role. Her presence on the cast list for Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley means a lot considering the fact that Paige is one of the most acclaimed young actresses working today.

The fourth installment of Beverly Hills Cop has been decades in the making. Now, the project is getting put into motion for Netflix and alongside Paige’s casting was the addition of the terrific actor, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to the project as well! Gordon-Levitt of (500) Days of Summer fame is one of the most sought-after actors working today and will be heard playing Jiminy Cricket in the much-awaited upcoming Disney picture, Pinocchio.

After the indie success of Zola, Paige has not been resting on her laurels. She was seen in the Sundance Lena Dunham indie movie, Sharp Stick as well. Also noteworthy is that Paige will be featured in the Peter Dinklage reboot of The Toxic Avenger that is in the works. With her sharp comic timing, Paige is a natural choice to appear in Murphy’s forthcoming action-comedy.

What made Paige appeal to the public through her work in both Zola and Mack & Rita was the actresses’ tremendous charm and vulnerability on screen. She has the type of personality that can be easy to relate to and that is what worked well for her in the critically acclaimed hit, Zola. Many believe she was snubbed for an Academy Award nomination for her work in Zola which was about a stripper who is lured into prostitution by a woman she just met alongside a violent pimp. Paige’s character in that film becomes the voice of reason even though she ends up committing crimes along the way as well.

With the addition of both Paige and Gordon-Levitt to its cast, it looks that Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley could be one of the most successful movies ever to hit Netflix. While waiting for that movie, you may want to check out the just released Mack & Rita which showcases a sweet Paige performance although if you want to see the up-and-coming actress at the top of her game and have not seen Zola, you are truly missing out on an excellent film.
