The theatrical movie box office results for December 16, 2022 through December 18, 2022 have been released.

Avatar: The Way of Water premiered in the Number One Spot at the box office over the weekend with $134 Million so far. Worldwide, the film has made over $434.5 Million.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was Second over the weekend with $5.4 Million for $418.9 Million so far. Worldwide, the film has made over $776.4 Million.

Violent Night was Third with $5 Million so far.

Strange World was Fourth with $2.2 Million so far.

The Menu was Fifth with at the box office over the weekend with $1.7 Million.

These films: Devotion, The Fabelmans, Black Adam, I Heard the Bells, and Elf rounded out the top ten respectively.

Avatar: The Way of Water is a 2022 American epic science fiction film directed by James Cameron from a screenplay he co-wrote with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, with a story the trio wrote with Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. Produced by Lightstorm Entertainment and TSG Entertainment, and distributed by 20th Century Studios, it is the sequel to Avatar (2009) and the second film in the Avatar franchise. Cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Stephen Lang, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Giovanni Ribisi, Dileep Rao, and Matt Gerald reprise their roles from the original film, with Sigourney Weaver returning in a different role. New cast members include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco and Jemaine Clement. In the film, Jake Sully (Worthington) and his family explore the oceans of Pandora to meet the Metkayina clan.
