Anthony Mackie Will Be Back In Captain America 4

Anthony Mackie has secured a deal which will mark Captain America 4 as his first true superhero movie.

Anthony Mackie has always been an actor of remarkable range dating back to his turn in the 2006 indie gem Half Nelson which propelled Ryan Gosling to his first Oscar nomination. The Julliard educated performer, Mackie, has just secured a deal to solidify his appearance as the lead in Captain America 4. Mackie has been seen as Falcon several times and his character is now assuming the role he was given by the former Captain America (Chris Evans) at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Mackie’s character, Sam Wilson who had the secret identity of the Falcon, began playing the role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier back in 2014. Ever since, he’s played that role in five other films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On Disney Plus’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Mackie has been cutting his teeth preparing for his new role in the upcoming sequel. It is unclear whether his co-star Sebastian Stan is going to be appearing in the new forthcoming movie.

Mackie has carved a career out for himself by playing in both blockbuster films and more prestigious fare like 2009’s The Hurt Locker which won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The quality of his work has always wowed movie-goers and critics alike throughout the years. He has even done supporting roles in recent films like The Woman in the Window which was on Netflix.

Anthony Mackie has also done comedy as well such as in his role from 2015’s The Night Before where he played opposite Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Even before his riveting turn in Half Nelson, he was great at dramatic roles such as in 2004’s She Hate Me from acclaimed director Spike Lee.

There are several different ways the script for Captain America 4 could be written by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writer Malcom Spellman who is one of the co-writers of the new film’s screenplay. There were different plot points hinted to in other Marvel films but we’ll have to be patient to see which storyline the writers will go with for the new picture.

While not much is known about Captain America 4 as of yet, with Mackie on board, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are ecstatic at the receipt of the new news and are eagerly awaiting the project. Mackie is bound to become the action star he was always meant to be and this film will be an event picture for sure.
