Dave Bautista To Star in and Produce Upcoming Action/Comedy Alongside Oscar-Winner Anne Hathaway

Dave Bautista The Killers Game

Dave Bautista Slated to Appear with Anne Hathaway

Dave Bautista and Anne Hathaway are slated to star in and produce a new FBI action/comedy in which their characters will pose as a romantic couple while they engage in an undercover sting operation.

Dave Bautista is one of our most personable character actors and, now, he is slated to star in a juicy leading role in an upcoming comic action movie which is yet untitled. Bautista is cast in the movie opposite Anne Hathaway as the two performers will play bickering FBI professionals forced to get used to each other’s styles to take down a crime boss. Jonathan Tropper, who is also a novelist, will be writing the movie which is going to be from Amazon MGM. Tropper is said to soon be collaborating on a forthcoming Star Wars project with Shawn Levy. Both Bautista and Hathaway will serve as producers of the new upcoming Amazon MGM picture.

Bautista is coming off a well-regarded turn in the Pamela Anderson drama, The Last Showgirl. Bautista held his own against Anderson in the occasionally subtle dramatic film. Bautista has played leading roles in movies like Knock at the Cabin and The Killer’s Game. Though The Killer’s Game was a box-office turkey, the movie had its charms and appealed to some fans of the highly regarded actor.

Anne Hathaway has taken on interesting projects, herself, these days from The Idea of You and Mothers’ Instinct to the indie film, She Came to Me. Though she seems like an odd casting choice to play opposite Bautista, it could be a good decision for the comical aspects of the movie to take flight. The new movie centers on a wedding where the crime bosses featured in the picture will be taken down. Hathaway is no stranger to wedding-themed movies, having played in the likes of Rachel Getting Married and Bride Wars.

While Bautisa has a built-in every man appeal to him, it is yet uncertain as to how the forthcoming film will portray Hathaway’s glamour to service the story. Will it be a case of Hathaway playing a more ordinary version of herself or will she keep the beauty and charisma she is so well known for intact over the course of the picture?

Hathaway won her Best Supporting Actress Oscar playing in Les Miserables. Though her upcoming movie has no title right now, it’s safe to say this one probably won’t be her ticket to another Academy Award. Still, it’s a great way to cast her opposite the always unpredictable Bautista who manages to shine in his recent work time and time again. Keep your eyes open for more news on this exciting project as it develops.
