FRANKENSTEIN (2015) Movie Poster: Modern-Day Take on Classic Tale

Frankenstein Movie Poster Arrives

Frankenstein Movie Poster Arrives. As is often the case, two films about the same subject are produced and released within the same year as one another. This happened with Deep Impact (1988) and Armageddon (1998), Volcano (1997) and Dante’s Peak (1997), and so on. You get the point. Well, this year, the common denominator is the character of Frankenstein. As you know, the Max Landis written Victor Frankenstein (2015) is being released this winter, and surprise – so is Bernard Rose‘s Frankenstein (2015).

Rose is the director behind Candyman (1992), one of my favourite horror films of all time. It’s a beautiful, gothic romance, with enough horrific imagery and grounded dread to put anyone on edge. In my mind, it still holds up, which, after 23 years, is quite a feat.

Frankenstein stars Carrie-Ann Moss and Danny Huston, which is quite a pair. This being the first time I’ve heard of this production, I’m extremely excited. Take a look at the poster below!

According to Bloody-Disgusting, “…the first poster to Candyman director Bernard Rose’s Frankenstein, recently acquired by Alchemy following its highly acclaimed World Premiere at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival where it was awarded the grand prize, the Golden Raven Award.

Xavier Samuel (Twilight, Adore, Fury), Carrie-Ann Moss (The Matrix Trilogy) and Danny Huston (‘American Horror Story’, Big Eyes) star in this modern day take on the classic tale by Mary Shelley.

‘Frankenstein is set in present day Los Angeles and told entirely from the perspective of the Monster. After he is artificially created, then left for dead by a husband-and-wife team of eccentric scientists, Adam is confronted with nothing but aggression and violence from the world around him. This perfect creation-turned disfigured monster must come to grips with the horrific nature of humanity.’

Rose directed from his original script based on the Mary Shelley’s classic novel. Xavier Samuel stars as the Monster, with Carrie-Ann Moss as Elizabeth Frankenstein, Danny Huston as Victor Frankenstein, and Tony Todd as Eddie, reuniting with his Candyman director Rose.

Special Effects Make-up was designed by six-time Emmy nominee Randy Westgate (X-Men Origins: Wolverine).”

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
