HALLOW ROAD: Rosamund Pike Set to Star in Upcoming Dramatic Thriller

Rosamund Pike I Care A Lot

Rosamund Pike Returns to the Screen in Hallow Road

Rosamund Pike has been cast opposite Matthew Rhys in the upcoming thriller called Hallow Road which is set to be directed by Babak Anvari.

Rosamund Pike made it into the cinematic spotlight for her turn playing against Ben Affleck in 2014’s masterpiece, Gone Girl. Now, Pike is slated to appear in another thriller, Hallow Road, that has her fans intrigued. Pike is currently starring in the critically acclaimed Saltburn and is expected to be in the running for potential Oscar nomination buzz thanks to her showy role in the new picture.

Babak Anvari is directing Hallow Road which is written by William Gillies. XYZ Films is co-financing the project. This forthcoming film’s plot centers on two parents who receive a disturbing phone call in which they learn their daughter has caused a devastating car accident. This picture is going to be made internationally in Ireland and Prague.

Former Oscar nominee Pike’s new picture, Saltburn, is the latest controversial movie from acclaimed filmmaker Emerald Fennell and gives Pike the opportunity to strut her acting chops just like she did in Gone Girl and the hilarious, I Care a Lot from a few years back. It was her intense role in the brilliant Gone Girl, in particular, that really made Pike a household name.

Matthew Rhys starred on the hit show, “The Americans” and was in several high-profile movies, including the Mr. Rogers movie, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Elizabeth Banks’s hysterically funny and intense Cocaine Bear. Rhys is a versatile actor who seems to be well-matched with the formidable Pike in Hallow Road. The upcoming picture is certainly full of thematic elements which will give Rhys and Pike the opportunity to dig deep inside their characters.

Pike proved in the Netflix dark comedy, I Care a Lot that she can handle drama and comedy with equally stellar results and, now, the buzz on Saltburn is nothing short of incredible though due to the dark nature of the movie, it may not get nominated for anything other than its tense acting performances. Now that almost ten years has passed since Gone Girl, audiences can start seeing Pike as something other than a vicious, cold-blooded partner in marriage which was the role she played in her very acclaimed Oscar-nominated part.

Hallow Road looks likely to be one of the most exciting thriller projects on the horizon. With Pike and Rhys paired up, you can expect some out-of-this-world acting, for sure. Meanwhile, Saltburn will be making its way to a limited run in theaters later this week and will expand to more locations soon.
