Dark Harvest Lands at MGM Film Group

MGM Film Group, through Matt Tolmach Productions, will produce the film adaptation of Norman Partridge‘s Dark Harvest. David Slade will direct the film.

Dark Harvest‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by Norman Partridge, “Dark Harvest is set on Halloween in 1963 and centers around the October Boy aka Ol’ Hacksaw Face aka Sawtooth Jack. Whatever the name, everybody in this small Midwestern town knows who he is. He rises from the cornfields every Halloween, a butcher knife in his hand, and makes his way toward town, where gangs of teenage boys eagerly await their chance to confront the legendary nightmare. Both the hunter and the hunted, the October Boy is the prize in an annual rite of life and death. Pete McCormick knows that killing the October Boy is his one chance to escape a dead-end future in this one-horse town. He’s willing to risk everything, including his life, to be a winner for once. But before the night is over, Pete will look into the saw-toothed face of horror–and discover the terrifying true secret of the October Boy.”

Comcast in Talks to acquire Walmart’s Video on demand Service

Vudo, Walmart’s advertising and transactional video-on-demand service, may be acquired by Comcast. Vudo currently has “an installed base of more than 100,000 devices across America.” By acquiring Vudo, Comcast would also be acquiring that user base. Vudo “is pay-as-you-go, no subscription, with movies to buy or rent rather inexpensively, and high quality video.”

Yellowstone has Renewed for Season Four by Paramount Network

Yellowstone has been renewed for Season 4, ahead of its Season 3 premiere, by Paramount Network.

Yellowstone‘s co-creator Taylor Sheridan has also signed an overall production and development deal with ViacomCBS’ Entertainment & Youth Brands. “The pact, said to be well into the eight figures, covers multiple projects across the division run by Chris McCarthy, including projects for the newly created Entertainment & Youth Studios. David Glasser and his 101 Studios will executive produce all projects under the deal.”

The Blacklist has Renewed for Season Eight by NBC

The Blacklist, starring James Spader and Megan Boone, has been renewed for Season 8 by NBC.

The Blacklist: Season 7 will continue its current season on March 20, 2020 at 8 p.m. The second half premiere will consist of two back-to-back episodes.

Hollywood TV Series Premiere Date Released by Netflix

Hollywood, Ryan Murphy‘s TV mini-series, will premiere on Netflix on May 1, 2020.

Hollywood‘s plot synopsis: “Hollywood will follow the story of a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day. The 7-episode series exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.”
