Nicolas Cage Joe Exotic Role Ditched but Actor is in Acclaimed Film

Nicolas Cage has been distanced from playing a role as Joe Exotic in a Tiger King spin-off yet he has a highly anticipated new film coming out this week called Pig.

It has been revealed that Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage will not be starring as Joe Exotic in a “Tiger King” series for Amazon. That project has been shelved by Amazon indefinitely. However, Cage, who you may have seen in the recent horror film Willy’s Wonderland, is not resting on his laurels. He is going to have his latest film, Pig, released on Friday.

When audiences saw Cage in Willy’s Wonderland earlier this year, they may have been concerned. For one, the actor had no dialogue in the strange picture and, for another, the movie was not exactly his finest hour from an artistic standpoint. But, never mind, because Cage has just won raves for his role in the film Pig and may be heading back to award ceremonies next year to celebrate his performance in it. Cage won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as an impulsive alcoholic in the much acclaimed 1995 movie Leaving Las Vegas.

Cage also was recently cast as none other than himself in a film by Tom Gormican titled The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Cage will be portraying a money hungry actor who gets paid to be at a fan’s birthday party. Somehow the film revolves around a CIA sting operation and sounds pretty wild.

Cage was recently mentioned in an article in The New York Post. Tiffany Haddish revealed that Cage had given her a very memorable moment of sexual satisfaction when she saw him in the film Face/Off back in 1997. This is just another example of how the actor has made an impact through the films he has appeared in throughout the years.

Cage’s well-reviewed new film, Pig, is about a celebrity chef in solitude whose life is disrupted by the kidnapping of his truffle hunting pig. It will be interesting for viewers to see Cage back in top form as many were wondering if he still had what it takes to be successful when considering his role without dialogue from Willy’s Wonderland.

While the prospect of Amazon’s “Tiger King” Nicolas Cage series may have seen better days and has definitely missed its boat for now, the renowned Cage will be on screen doing what he does best this coming weekend. Fans are already buying their tickets and will be looking forward to seeing Cage earn some nominations for his new role in Pig. The upcoming film currently holds a 97% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
