Weekend Impressions
Following the box office trend from the last two weekends where horror movies have been king, this weekend will not be different. Jigsaw will Number One at the box office this weekend. It has name recognition, it is another in the long running, beaten-to-death, SAW franchise films, and people seem to have a hankering for watching people ripped apart in gruesome ways this All Hallows’ Eve.
The producers of SAW certainly released Jigsaw at the right time to maximize their beaten horse’s return on invest (ROI).
Suburbicon should be Second this weekend at the box office. Suburbicon looks and sounds like a Coen Brothers film. Suburbicon presents as a hilarious film but also a dark movie with bloodshed that may satiate the blood-thirsty this Halloween season.
Thank You for Your Service will be Third at the box office this weekend. Thank You for Your Service looks like a solid film about the after-effects of war.
Geostorm will be Fourth at the box office this weekend.
Barring any surprises from All I See is You and Novitiate, Blade Runner 2049 will be Fifth at the box office this weekend.
This will be the last weekend at the United States box office in which Blade Runner 2049 is in the Top Five.
