HOW TO ROB A BANK (2026): Eagerly Awaited Action Picture Shifts Release Date From September to November

How to Rob a Bank Set to Release Around Thanksgiving
How to Rob a Bank has changed its release date from early September to mid-November in an effort to create more awareness for the unique action picture.
Amazon MGM has a new heist movie from director David Leitch (Bullet Train), How to Rob a Bank, that is now scheduled for release on November 13th. This upcoming action picture was supposed to cap off the summer movie season with a September 4th release date, but it is now going to play in the competitive Thanksgiving movie season instead.
Zoë Kravitz (Caught Stealing) is the most bankable star in the forthcoming heist picture which is currently showing its trailers in theaters. They are playing like gangbusters – mostly with the under-35 crowd. Kravitz’s Caught Stealing underwhelmed at the box-office when it was released around September of last year, so perhaps, there was worry that this high-profile new action picture could similarly get lost in the shuffle like Kravitz’s high-profile action movie from last summer.
How to Rob a Bank will certainly not get lost in the shuffle with its new release date allowing more time for word of mouth to spread regarding how exciting this picture is going to be. Those trailers are playing great, as stated, and are advertising a nonstop, darkly humorous thrill ride. Bullet Train was certainly great, so the right director was definitely employed for this new film with the precise and reliable Leitch.
Kravitz is not the only “bankable” name in the new picture. Nicholas Hoult (Juror #2) plays the controversial lead character in the picture while Pete Davidson, the always fantastic John C. Reilly and Christian Slater (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You) are also prominently featured in the hugely volatile upcoming bank robbery film.
This movie differs from other heist movies in that the bank robbers showcase their robberies on social media and become heroes to those who aspire to admire their dangerous and ambitious behaviors. They also wear masks that are bound to capture the attention of viewers. Expect an action-packed extravaganza with a thought-provoking message at the film’s center regarding the reasons people are haves and others are have nots. It’s also going to be an action movie that could blow you throw the back of the theater with what looks like stunning action sequences which have been teased in the trailers.
How to Rob a Bank could have, theoretically, been a hit in an early September release, but sometimes summer movies die down as students go back to school. This movie is “banking” on college kids coming out to see it, so the studio doesn’t want to lose that audience to their first days of college. By November, all those students will be itching to see a movie for Thanksgiving break and this star-studded action picture will certainly fit the bill. Hopefully, Kravitz makes it through the whole movie this time out as she was killed off in Caught Stealing which angered her fans.
