Emotional Hilary Swank Drama Set to Open in Early 2024

Hilary Swank‘s latest sentimental movie, Ordinary Angels, will officially be opening in a wide release on February 23rd.

After Hilary Swank’s recent critical and financial disappointment, The Good Mother, expect a reversal of fortune for the Oscar-winning actress when her latest heartwarming movie, Ordinary Angels opens in early 2024. Swank’s latest upcoming tearjerker is set to open February 23rd, 2024 and this film looks a lot more positive than The Good Mother and a lot less difficult to watch too. Ordinary Angels was previously pulled from its October 13th release this year to avoid the box-office juggernaut that is the Taylor Swift documentary film opening the same day. It also couldn’t hurt to distance Ordinary Angels from the poorly reviewed The Good Mother either.

Swank’s upcoming film is certainly highly anticipated. Kelly Fremon Craig and Meg Tilly wrote the forthcoming movie. Craig is coming off directing the acclaimed box-office hit, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. That fact immediately has created much interest in her latest venture as a writer while Tilly has been a long-time favorite as an actress who left her career to take care of her kids. It will be nice to see Tilly return to the cinematic world with her work on the script for Ordinary Angels.

In Ordinary Angels, Swank plays a hairdresser who goes out of her way to help a widowed everyday guy (Alan Ritchson) who is struggling to raise his two daughters. The plot is complicated by the fact that one of his daughters is gravely ill and needs to get a liver transplant in order to survive. Plenty of laughs and tears will most likely ensue as the movie’s premise takes flight so expect this one to be one of Kingdom Studios and Lionsgate’s best received films by CinemaScore when it is polled. Movies like Ordinary Angels tend to score in the high “A” range.

It has also been said that Swank would like to do publicity to promote the new film and the release date hopes that the strike will have been resolved by then and that the star can get out to promote the movie in February. This new Swank movie is also co-produced by the Erwin Brothers who know how to make well-received movies. Audiences loved their films so much that they tended to typically score “A+” CinemaScores.

With a star of Swank’s magnitude, Ordinary Angels looks poised to get another “A+” and have very long legs at the domestic box-office. It’s the type of movie that can play all over the country and inspire people to be better human beings even if just for two hours.
