TED: THE ANIMATED SERIES: An Animated Sequel to the Popular TED Films is in the Works For Peacock

A Ted Sequel Series is Coming Soon to Peacock
A set of follow-up stories to the popular Ted films will be coming to Peacock in the form of an animated series sequel.
Seth MacFarlane will be reprising his role as the funny, foul-mouthed teddy bear on a new animated sequel series to the popular Universal Pictures released Ted films. MacFarlane will also be the key writer on the show. It will be featured on Peacock. Mark Wahlberg and Amanda Seyfried will be back reprising their roles from the last film, Ted 2. Meanwhile, Kyle Mooney will be featured in the upcoming series as a brand new character known as Apollo.
One may be familiar with the recent Peacock prequel series, “Ted,” which has become a pretty big hit in its own right for the streamer. That show was based on the story line of a wise-cracking teddy bear that was featured in two movies: Ted (2012) and Ted 2 (2015). Mila Kunis played Wahlberg’s character’s love interest in the first movie, but she was not prominently featured in the sequel. Now, with the animated series, the adventures of Wahlberg and Seyfried’s characters from part two will be continued for fans of the franchise.
Seth MacFarlane’s Ted is his most popular movie to date. He got to host the Oscars the year after the first movie’s release. His other film, 2014’s A Million Ways to Die in the West, didn’t fare as well as Ted from a financial standpoint at the box-office. Still, the funnyman is best known for his hugely successful show, Family Guy, which he created.
Wahlberg was recently seen in the underrated Flight Risk, a well-crafted thriller from Mel Gibson. As an actor, Wahlberg has dabbled in different genres and was noted for making a risky, fairly recent Hollywood movie called Father Stu which co-starred Gibson. Wahlberg and Seyfried (First Reformed) are likely to be energetic voice-over actors for the new Ted animated series which is on the horizon.
Ted earned $218 million domestically and $330 million internationally back in 2012, but the sequel didn’t make as much money and came up with just $81 million in the U.S. and Canada with another $134 million in international ticket sales.
While the first Ted movie garnered an “A-” CinemaScore, the second Ted didn’t fare as well and scored just a “B+.” For whatever reason, the studio behind the films, Universal, decided not to proceed with a theatrical third film in the series if one was ever even imagined. Now, Peacock has become the perfect home for the goofy, wise-ass teddy bear and many fans of the films are excited to see his further exploits on the animated show.
