Disney moves Peter Jackson’s Beatles Documentary ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ to 2021

Peter Jackson’s upcoming and highly anticipated Beatles Documentary ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ was originally supposed to release this September but has been pushed to August 2021 according to the film’s distributor,  Disney.

The pandemic has caused several studios to rearrange their release calendars, some resulting to debuting on streaming services, others just simply pushing theatrical release dates back several months. On Friday, Disney announced that the highly anticipated Beatles documentary will be pushed back almost a year. The documentary shows a new perspective on the history of the Beatles, showing the members laughing and goofing around during recording and writing sessions. This film will focus more on the lighter side of things such as love and friendship truthfully within the band and its members. Jackson digs deep into the Beatles’ archives and shows the fun times, unseen footage of the Let it Be sessions, and even includes a fully restored version of the iconic rooftop concert. Both, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have both expressed their excitement of the upcoming film and what it will show light to when it comes to the journey the band has gone through while recording their music. Peter Jackson is directing and a producer on the film. The documentary will now makes its debut on August 27, 2021.
