Katee Sackhoff cast in The Mandalorian Season 2

Actress Katee Sackhoff has been cast in Season 2 of The Mandalorian.Sackhoff will be portraying the live-action version of Bo-Katan Kryze, a Mandalorian warrior.

Kryze’s past in the Star Wars universe:

a lieutenant in the radical splinter group Death Watch, second-in-command to the group’s leader, Pre Vizsla. When Maul took possession of the Darksaber, executed Vizla, and took the throne of Mandalore, Bo-Katan refused to accept the outsider as her new leader. She was instrumental in recruiting the Jedi and the Republic to lay siege to Mandalore and oust Maul. Later in Star Wars Rebels, Sabine Wren chose to pass the infamous weapon to Bo-Katan, believing that she could unite the Mandalorian clans.

Bo-Katan Kryze’s appearance in The Mandalorian could answer lingering questions left over from the animated series that she has appeared in. One of those questions is how did Moff Gideon get possession of the Darksaber and another is how did Kryze lose the Darksaber.

Bo-Katan Kryze, like Ahsoka Tano, may serve to broaden The Mandalorian universe. She, like Tano, may also lead to possible live-action spin-off TV series within Disney+’s TV Star Wars universe.

Cast and crew

The Mandalorian: Season 2 stars Temuera Morrison, Pedro Pascal, Emily Swallow, Giancarlo Esposito, Michael Biehn, Bill Burr, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, and Rosario Dawson.

Director Robert Rodriguez is a confirmed director for Season 2.

Bryce Dallas Howard is returning to the director’s chair during Season 2 to direct an undisclosed episode. She directed “Chapter 4: Sanctuary” of Season 1 of The Mandalorian.
