Transformers 4 Officially Titled, Poster Released. The fourth Transformers film will be entitled Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) and a movie poster has been released for the Michael Bay film as well. As always, Michael Bay starts his promotional campaign very early. The 4th Transformers installment is almost a year away and we are already getting official posters, titles, release dates alongside some pictures, plot information, etc. This is quite essential for a popcorn film like Transformers – it needs to cover its several hundred million budget somehow.

As far as it goes for the title, Age of Extinction is clearly hinting at several things. Firstly, we will get to see the Dinobots. Reportedly Michael Bay didn’t want to use them initially because they weren’t good characters. It is not like Bay is master of character development or character driven films but apparently he has included them after all. Another thing we can be sure of is that a film called Age of Extinction in comparison to Dark of the Moon and Revenge of the Fallen will be huge, just like the Dinobots. The Dinobots are numerous and large so we might get to see something even bigger than The Driller destroying a sky-scraper in Chicago in Age of Extinction.

Shooting for the film took place in Utah, Detroit, Michigan, Monument Valley, and McCormick Place in Chicago. These locations bring to mind a Chinese-looking based setting. That’s certainly new not simply for a Transformers film but also for a Michael Bay film as a whole. This time there are no guest stars in the franchise like John Malkovic, Patrick Dempsey, or Frances McDormand. Dempsey received a Razzie nomination which might have scared off pretty much everyone except for Mark Wahlberg, who will try and save the film from its worst moments. Mark and Michael seem to be working well together so far – Bay’s first film with Wahlberg resulted in 46 percent at Rotten Tomatoes – a grand achievement for Bay without any doubt.
