Character Actress Jennifer Coolidge Cast in Minecraft Movie

Jennifer Coolidge has been cast in the upcoming Jason Momoa film, Minecraft, which is a 2025 Warner Bros. release.

If you’re a bit older, you’ll probably remember when Jennifer Coolidge made a big splash on the silver screen with the infamous role of Stifler’s mom in the $100 million-plus grossing American Pie back in 1999. That role certainly put Coolidge on the map and she has delivered on her tremendous promise for potential over the years. She is a two-time Emmy winner and has wowed viewers for her work on “The White Lotus.” Now, Coolidge will be back on the silver screen in the big forthcoming video game adaptation, Minecraft, due out in 2025. This movie is shooting in New Zealand.

While not too much has been revealed as to what, exactly, Coolidge’s role is in Minecraft, with comedy director Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite) on board, it seems likely that Coolidge will have a humorous role in the picture. Coolidge could also be excellent at playing a villain, but no exact plot details have been revealed about the film’s story line as of yet. Twenty years ago, Coolidge co-starred opposite Hilary Duff in the Warner Bros. movie, A Cinderella Story, where she garnered some big laughs. It’s only fitting that she returns to the big screen with another Warner Bros. movie two decades later.

Coolidge’s part on the sitcom, “2 Broke Girls,” was one of Coolidge’s juiciest and funniest roles. That’s the show where she played the wise-cracking neighbor, Sophie. That was a great part for Coolidge who managed to win over fans of all ages back then. But, now with younger audiences headed to theaters to see Minecraft when it comes out, Coolidge will once again be recognized as something other than being Stifler’s mom. Audiences born in the 1970’s and 1980s, especially, are guilty of remembering Coolidge for her first insanely famous role. When the name, Jennifer Coolidge, comes up, you know you’re usually in for a good time. Now, besides her recognition for comedy movies, Coolidge is also recognized for her distinct work on “The White Lotus.”

Minecraft will star action hero/muscle man Jason Momoa. The director, of this most likely kid-friendly movie, Hess, and one of Coolidge’s co-stars in the upcoming film, Jack Black, made Nacho Libre together back in 2006, so audiences are expecting big things with this amazing cast that has been assembled for the 2025 video game adaptation. Black and Coolidge would seem to be like a comedy dream team, so it’s anyone’s guess as to whether they’ll have many scenes together in Minecraft. Hopefully, they do, because they are two of the brightest comic stars working today and would play off each other with terrific wit and sarcasm, judging from these stars’ previous performances. Yes, Jennifer Coolidge has come a long way from simply being known as, “Stifler’s mom.”
