NEW YORK COMIC CON 2025 – DAY TWO: Norman Reedus, Tina Romero, THE WALKING DEAD: DARYL DIXON [AMC+, NYCC 2025]
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Panel from NYCC 2025
New York Comic Con 2025 Day Two Write Up on AMC+‘s The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Norman Reedus was at NYC Comic Con 2025 this year and, despite the absence of his The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon co-star, Melissa McBride, on stage, it was a wonderfully energetic and informative panel. Producers of the show were on hand as well and discussed aspects of the third and fourth seasons of the wildly popular aforementioned horror show. Of course, everyone wanted to talk about season four, but it was hard to get too in-detail about it. The moderator of the entertaining event was the one and only Tina Romero who is none other than the daughter of the pioneer of the “original” zombie movie, George A. Romero.
Norman Reedus is of course, the title character on the show, Daryl Dixon while Melissa McBride plays Carol Peletier, Daryl’s partner in crime. We are now in the third season and Comic Con audiences were treated to a glimpse of the seventh episode with a brief scene of some dramatic and powerful interaction between Carol and Daryl. We were further shown some outtakes on the set of the making of Season Four. Viewers have been in awe of the current setting of the show in Spain. There were multiple Carols in the set outtake segment as a humorous touch to the clip. It showed the fun that McBride and Reedus have at work while creating such a fascinating show. It was a brief segment, but an enjoyable one.
There will be an auction of The Walking Dead Universe memorabilia this coming Halloween weekend. Many props will be available to bid on from the shows in the universe that have aired and streamed throughout the years. There will be so many different types of costumes and items that will make dedicated viewers of the shows fondly recall the years of the greatest episodes which have brought into view our memorable characters and countless zombies. In fact, one crew member stunt man has died hundred of times, as one producer so fondly recalled on-stage.
Reedus was asked a couple of intriguing questions, but he didn’t reveal which season of the show was his favorite. He did manage to get the audience to sing “Happy Birthday” to his daughter and, in a turn of events, an audience member asked the audience to sing “Happy Birthday” to her own child which the audience gladly did.
The memory of Sergio Leone westerns were said to be lingering on the set of the new season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Leone’s presence was felt as per one of the producers who went into detail about such great work of the past. However, the biggest take-away of the Comic Con event was the dedication of Norman Reedus and the producers in terms of making the zombie show continue to last as one on-going event which horror fans never seem to grow tired of. Daryl and Carol are the types of characters that memorable shows are made of and their work on the series continues to stun and amaze viewers who typically stream the show.
Tina Romero has a lot of passion that she displayed on-stage and she made viewers aware that she has a movie being released that she helmed which is coming out in theaters later this month, Queens of the Dead. It features Katy M. O’Brian of Love Lies Bleeding fame. Tina Romero’s dad’s influence over her is amazing and it is clear that she has her dad’s blood in her veins. She wore a Day of the Dead T-shirt on stage in homage to her late, great father whose work is a staple in the zombie motion picture world.
While Reedus and company didn’t give much away in terms of what’s to come, we have several sure things to look forward to, including the auction this Halloween weekend of The Walking Dead memorabilia. One wishes that Melissa McBride was present at Comic Con this year, but her spirit was definitely felt as the producers and Reedus recounted some aspects of the behind-the-scenes events which go on. Until next year, don’t think that the fourth season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon won’t be out of this world. Reedus brings his magic on-set all the time and it’s clear that this is what he was born to do.
