STAR WARS: REVENGE OF THE SITH: Returns to the Big Screen in April for its 20th Anniversary

Lucasfilm announces the return of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith to theaters on April 25 to celebrate 20 years of the fan-favorite prequel.
“It’s over, Anakin! I have the higher ground!”
The concluding chapter of the Star Wars prequel trilogy will be marking it’s 20th anniversary this year, and to celebrate, will be returning to the big screen on April 25. This news, which is sure to be welcomed by the Star Wars community, comes after long-time producer and Lucasfilm stalwart, Kathleen Kennedy recently announced that she would be stepping down and retiring by the end of the year.
In the announcement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm states, “The film will run in U.S. theaters and select international territories for one week only and will be available in several formats, including, for the first time, 4DX. 4DX features high-tech motion chairs that sync with over 21 effects, all designed to complement the narrative of the film.”
Picking up years after the events in The Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith stars prequal mainstays, Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman. “With a new threat rising, the Jedi Council sends Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker to aid the captured Chancellor. Anakin feels he is ready to be promoted to Jedi Master. Obi-Wan is hunting down the Separatist General, Grievous. When Anakin has future visions of pain and suffering coming Padmé’s way, he sees Master Yoda for counsel. When Darth Sidious executes Order 66, it destroys most of all the Jedi have built. Experience the birth of Darth Vader.”
Revenge of the Sith was a box office smash hit upon its release in 2005, grossing around $850 million at the global box office. It is also regarded as some-what of a fan favorite that has only gained more followers as the years have gone by, and the politics of the film come at a time that might even resonate further with modern audiences.
