The Outsider

Derek Cecil has been cast as Andy Katcavage.

Max Beesley has been cast as Seale Bolton.

These actors join already cast: Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, Julianne Nicholson, Yul Vázquez, Jeremy Bobb, Marc Menchaca, Hettienne Park, and Michael Esper.

The Outsider‘s plot synopsis: “The Outsider, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, follows a seemingly straightforward investigation into the gruesome murder of a local boy leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything they believe to be real, as an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case.

Richard Price will write the screenplays. Jason Bateman will direct the first two episodes. Andrew Bernstein will direct several episodes of the TV series.

The Stand

Heather Graham has been cast as Rita Blakemoor, “a wealthy woman who is ill prepared for the end of the world and attempts to escape superflu-infested New York City.”

Greg Kinnear has been cast as Glen Bateman, a widowed professor when the superflu hits, Glen Bateman was accustomed to a solitary life. When he encounters other survivors, his curiosity is piqued by Mother Abagail’s visions.

This actress joins already cast: Eion Bailey, Katherine McNamara, Hamish Linklater, Alexander Skarsgård, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Brad William Henke, Daniel Sunjata, James Marsden, Amber Heard, Whoopi Goldberg, Greg Kinnear, Odessa Young, and Henry Zaga.

The Stand‘s plot synopsis: based the book by Stephen King, The Stand deals with the way “the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after, a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides — or are chosen. Jason Sudeikis has been cast as Ted Lasso, a NBC Sports character.

Brendan Hunt has been cast as Coach Beard.

Ted Lasso‘s plot synopsis: “the half-hour comedy series will follow the story of Ted Lasso, who finds himself in a difficult situation when he was suddenly hired to manage an English soccer team despite not having any soccer coaching experience.”

Mare of Easttown

John Douglas Thompson has been cast as Chief Carter, “Mare’s (Winslet) boss at the Easttown Police Department, whose stoicism belies a deep compassion for the people he’s been charged with protecting.”

Patrick Murney has been cast as Kenny McMenamin, “Erin’s (Spaeny) father, a stocky, tattooed man who works as a mason. He’s bitter and cruel, especially when he drinks.”

Ben Miles has been cast as Richard Ryan, “a rumpled but charming visiting creative writing professor who wrote a dazzling novel that won the National Book Award 25 years ago but never has lived up to his early promise.”

James McArdle has been cast as Deacon Mark Burton, “a transitional deacon who is kind, quiet and idealistic. Although the residue of an accusation at his last church has left him slightly unmoored, he never waivers in his faith.”

Sosie Bacon has been cast as Carrie Layden, “Drew’s mother and Kevin’s ex-girlfriend. She’s a recovering addict, six months sober now, a wild horse of a girl struggling to fight for her son and start life anew.”

Joe Tippett has been cast as John Ross, “Lori’s (Nicholson) good-natured husband and high school sweetheart who serves as a protective father to their children and has an unbreakable bond with his brother Billy.”

Neal Huff has been cast as Father Dan Hastings, “Mare’s cousin, a progressive, inclusive Roman Catholic priest who struggles with his faith and enjoys the occasional Manhattan with Helen (Smart) but remains as the moral and spiritual voice of Easttown.”

Mare of Easttown‘s plot synopsis: “a small-town Pennsylvania detective’s life crumbles around her as she investigates a local murder.”

Brad Inglesby wrote the screenplay for the Gavin O’Connor-directed TV mini-series.
