BEACH READ (2027): Kevin Bacon Joins Cast of a Film Adaptation of a Best Selling Book

Kevin Bacon and Andie MacDowell have joined the cast of 20th Century Studios’ upcoming literary adaptation, Beach Read.

Beach Read stars Phoebe Dynevor and Patrick Schwarzenegger in a comedy romance film about a struggling novelist who finds romance developing with an old classmate rival after her own dad’s passing. This movie has just cast Kevin Bacon and Andie MacDowell in supporting roles within this highly anticipated upcoming picture.

Bacon is a movie star who appeared in Footloose, Murder in the First and Sleepers, to name just a few of the big roles he’s appeared in throughout his distinguished career. Bacon is often a character actor in his films, but his larger than life presence on-screen has made him a favorite among audiences throughout the years. Bacon recently appeared in the A24 horror movie, MaXXXine.

Andie MacDowell has had a very prolific career. She was in comedies such as The Muse and Groundhog Day and also appeared in great films like Green Card and Sex, Lies and Videotape earlier in her career. These days, MacDowell is best known for her work on “Maid” and for being Margaret Qualley (The Substance)’s mom.

Yulin Kuang who co-wrote Netflix’s hit, People We Meet on Vacation, will be directing Beach Read. Phoebe Dynevor and Patrick Schwarzenegger have done solid movies themselves. Dynevor was seen in the terrific Diane Lane movie, Anniversary while Schwarzenegger played in “White Lotus” and the sweet 2018 romance, Midnight Sun.

What Bacon and MacDowell will bring to Beach Read is years of experience in the film industry. This pair of character performers have a track record of carefully selecting only projects worthy of their unique talents. Bacon has even been featured in games like Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and songs like “Summer Girls” by LFO throughout the years. MacDowell was seen in the popular horror movie, Ready or Not.

Bacon and MacDowell’s expertise in the industry will add authenticity to Beach Read. Industry experts believe that Beach Read could be a major contender at the box-office with old stars and new stars coming together for a heartfelt literary adaptation of The New York Times bestseller by Emily Henry.

Beach Read is the type of romantic film that gets people going out on dates and going back to the movie theaters. Date movies are making a comeback at the box-office with pictures like It Ends with Us doing extremely well. This new one is, of course, much lighter than that picture. Beach Read is expected to be released in May of 2027, just in time to prepare people for the beach season.
