Elle Fanning in Talks to Join Standalone Predator Movie

Elle Fanning could be in the middle of closing a deal to star in director Dan Trachtenberg‘s forthcoming Predator standalone picture, Badlands.

Elle Fanning has been a star for just about two decades now. So it’s no surprise that she’s being talked about to take on a central role in the upcoming science-fiction film from Dan Trachtenberg, Badlands. This movie will serve as a Predator movie spin-off which is great news for fans of 2022’s Prey which scored great numbers on Hulu the year it was released.

With a tiny role in 2001’s I Am Sam where her sister, Dakota, shone, Elle Fanning went on to bigger roles rather quickly. Appearing in the Sofia Coppola films, Somewhere and The Beguiled, over the years have helped prove she loves working in independent art-house movies but she’s just as comfortable in mainstream pictures as well with roles in hits, Super 8 and We Bought a Zoo, among her most admirable cinematic achievements. She even appeared in Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York fairly recently and the acclaimed 20th Century Women a few years before that. Elle Fanning is most well-known to television viewers for her work on the well-received show, “The Great.”

Fanning has been said to be a fan of the Predator film franchise. When the deal for Badlands closes, the actress is expected to start work on the film sometime later this year as long as negotiations are successfully met. Prey proved to be a great success and paved the way for Fanning to top line a Predator movie after Amber Midthunder successfully carried Prey to solid reviews and ratings. Fanning is currently going to be appearing in the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.

Previously, Fanning was known for her wholesome film roles in movies like Super 8 and Cameron Crowe’s terrific, We Bought a Zoo, but the actress has displayed tremendous range in terms of the quality of her work in the projects she decided to select over the years.

Predator started as a franchise with the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger thriller of the same name which was set in the jungle and the series has continued to be a formidable property ever since its debut. These films revolve around an alien being who wreaks havoc on all who dare to come in its path.

Elle Fanning won many accolades for her work on the sophisticated show, “The Great.” However, she is ready to branch out into an action/science-fiction film role with the highly anticipated Badlands which is a project that was unprecedented for the actress. Badlands looks to be a big hit whether it ends up streaming on Hulu or being put in theaters by its company, 20th Century Studios. Look for more news on this project as it develops.
