New Zach Cregger Titles Get Release Dates from Studio

Warner Bros. has dated several titles, including two new movies from Zach Cregger, the upcoming Ocean’s prequel and Final Destination 7.

Aunt Gladys from Zach Cregger’s hit, Weapons, will be returning to the silver screen in a spin-off movie titled Gladys. That film will be produced by Cregger and is set to hit screens on September 8, 2028. Cregger’s big movie as a writer and director, The Flood, will be coming out about a month earlier on August 11, 2028.

Amy Madigan won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Gladys in Weapons, one of the most successful horror movies of 2025. Many expect the new follow-up spin-off movie to perform well at the box-office, but The Flood should be a movie of Oscar-caliber and demonstrate Cregger’s unique gifts of storytelling fourfold. Cregger came on to the scene with a vengeance with Barbarian, a low-budget horror movie that raked in some major cash at the box-office.

Also on the horizon is the Ocean’s Eleven prequel movie that is going to be helmed by Bradley Cooper and feature Margot Robbie in a central role. Cooper will also be showcased in the movie in a leading role as well. That movie has a release date scheduled of June 25, 2027, and is positioned to be a summer blockbuster in a year that is going to be a very competitive one for movies. Warner Bros. has high expectations for this new picture that Cooper will be flexing his creative muscles working on. Cooper and Robbie are like a box-office dream team, and the movie could even have Oscar nomination possibilities in the technical categories, given its old school time period setting of 1962.

For all you horror buffs out there, Final Destination 7 has also set a release date from Warner Bros. May 12, 2028 is the official date that the horror sequel is set to bow in theaters and the last picture in the franchise performed remarkably well at the box-office, earning over $317 million worldwide. Those numbers indicate a huge interest in the horror series where people try to outwit fate and escape untimely deaths. They may have run out of steam with these movies years ago, but these days, people couldn’t be more interested in this particular franchise.

The Flood and Gladys should help cement Cregger’s status as a writer/producer and a director and 2028 is expected to be a very big year for the Weapons alumni. Weapons was a big hit at the box-office but also featured tremendous creativity in its complex storytelling methods that made it a film which was one of the most admired ones of 2025, horror movie or not. A Baz Luhrmann take on Joan of Arc is set for November 22, 2028 for that year’s Thanksgiving movie-going season.
