Zendaya Set to Be Honored by CinemaCon

Zendaya is going to be given the very prestigious honor of Star of the Year at this year’s CinemaCon festivities on April 27th.

Call her one of Hollywood’s brightest shining stars. She made her first real big screen splash with viewers outside the Spider-Man series opposite Hugh Jackman in the 2017 smash musical, The Greatest Showman. She also played in the box-office success, Spider-Man: Homecoming that year as well to prove she has what it takes to appeal to pretty much anybody. It’s Zendaya, the truly talented star of big 2021 box-office hits, Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home. In The Greatest Showman, Zendaya performed the hit song, “Rewrite the Stars” with Zac Efron. Now, Zendaya is rewriting the Hollywood rule book as she bounces back between television and film work and one considers Zendaya’s powerful work on “Euphoria.” Her efforts are paying off now more than ever as the charismatic actress is now being honored as Star of the Year at CinemaCon in Las Vegas in late April. CinemaCon is the big event of the National Association of Theatre Owners.

Zendaya is one of our most versatile talents. You can examine her roles in Dune and Spider-Man: No Way Home and see two completely different characters who share one trait: they reel the viewer in. Later this year, Zendaya will play in Dune: Part Two and science fiction fans are already excited about seeing her reprise her role from the first film. That’s not all. Zendaya is also appearing in MGM’s sure-to-be successful movie, Challengers which will open late this summer.

In case you think Zendaya is an actress who sticks solely to blockbusters, she also made the drama-heavy film, Malcolm & Marie which premiered on Netflix a couple of years back. Zendaya received many great reviews for her turn in this movie opposite the always intriguing John David Washington. The Critics Choice has previously awarded Zendaya a major accolade for Best Actress. The star’s towering work on “Euphoria” is perhaps her most notable claim to fame outside of her memorable movie blockbusters.

Don’t count out Zendaya as a future Oscar contender in upcoming ceremonies although it would be a long shot for her two big roles this year to get her to the Academy Awards. Still, audiences across the world love her and she’s one of the most unique talents working today. Her CinemaCon “Star of the Year” award is a stepping stone to a career which will be prosperous for the actress if her superlative work thus far is any indication of what it to come.
