Angelina Jolie Predicted to Take Best Actress (Drama) Trophy for MARIA at the Golden Globes

Angelina Jolie To Be a Front Runner at The Golden Globes
There will be some surprises Sunday night at the Golden Globes but Angelina Jolie is predicted to win Best Actress (Drama) for her performance in Maria.
The Golden Globes will be loaded with potential films that could surprise but Angelina Jolie seems locked and loaded to win Best Actress in the Drama category at Sunday night’s ceremony. However, there could be upsets that could involve Wicked: Part 1. That film is a true crowd-pleaser and critical favorite in every way. The big question is whether or not Ariana Grande will take home a trophy for Best Supporting Actress.
Everybody’s predicting Kieran Culkin to win Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain but can the great Guy Pearce best the odds-on-favorite, Culkin in that category for The Brutalist? This is truly a case of a year with two remarkable performances. Pearce is astonishing in what will probably be the best performance of his entire career. In a year of great films, my money will be on Pearce even though all the signs point to a win by Culkin.
Anora and Wicked: Part 1 will be duking it out for Best Comedy or Musical alongside The Substance. Though Wicked: Part 1 has the edge, don’t disqualify The Substance or Anora to pull a surprise upset. In Best Actress (Comedy or Musical), there is a tight race. Cynthia Erivo, Mikey Madison and Demi Moore will all be fighting to win for their work in the aforementioned movies. Moore and Madison are most likely to be the two left standing with Madison likely to pull off the win despite a great wave of support for the amazing Moore.
Jolie is going to be facing off with Nicole Kidman from Babygirl but it’s pretty easy to predict that Jolie’s masterful turn in Maria is going to be recognized by the organization formerly known as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. All signs point to Jolie with the quality of her work being the sure-fire indicator she has what it takes to go all the way and win.
The Best Actor (Drama) race has three front-runners. Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, Colman Domingo for Sing Sing and Ralph Fiennes for Conclave. Then there’s Timothee Chalamet in A Complete Unknown to make the winner even harder to predict. Of course, if Daniel Craig’s film Queer wasn’t so strange, he may have won but given the obscurity of the movie, Craig is likely to lose. I’ll go out on a limb and say Chalamet surprisingly takes this honor since his film is probably the most widely seen of the bunch.
Best Picture (Drama) could be The Brutalist unless A Complete Unknown pulls an upset. FilmBook will cover the Globes Sunday night.
