BAD BOYS 4: Vanessa Hudgens Slated to Return Alongside Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Sequel

Vanessa Hudgens Back on Board with the Bad Boys

Vanessa Hudgens is going to be returning to the Bad Boys franchise with a role in the latest fourth film in the franchise.

Vanessa Hudgens may have separated from long time boyfriend (and excellent Elvis impersonator/accomplished actor) Austin Butler, but she’ll be backing up the bad boys again in the upcoming Bad Boys 4 movie. Hudgens previously appeared in 2020’s blockbuster smash, Bad Boys for Life, opposite the movie’s stars, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. She will be reprising her role from that film in the upcoming sequel.

You may have seen Hudgens at the Oscars pre-show Sunday night as an interviewer dodging Butler (who was nominated for Elvis) as her heart has gone on. Now, she’s doing as well as ever. Her latest role is going to be in a profitable movie as long as the probable Bad Boys 4 film directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, don’t get it shelved like their previous film– the unfortunate Batgirl.

Hudgens came on to the scene in a major way with her role opposite Zac Efron in Disney’s High School Musical but has held her own throughout the years even going as far as playing a sexy role in the gritty 2013 crime film from A24 called Spring Breakers. Hudgens starred opposite Selena Gomez in that movie which was directed by the controversial filmmaker Harmony Korine. It earned $14 million at the domestic box-office which was good for a low budget movie.

Also, Hudgens is known for her role in the earlier 2011 box-office disappointment, Sucker Punch which was directed by Zack Snyder. That movie only made $36 million domestically but still helped establish Hudgens in the film world in a positive way through her fine performance in the movie.

A lot is riding on Bad Boys 4 for both its stars and its directors. It’s Will Smith’s chance to prove he can still get audiences to watch and respect him while it’s also an opportunity for filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to prove Bad Boys for Life was no fluke and these guys have what it takes to duplicate (or surpass) that movie’s box-office glory. Batgirl‘s fate suggests that it’s not certain these guys are constantly reliable for quality films.

Vanessa Hudgens can shine bright again on the big screen if this upcoming Bad Boys film is a success. All signs point to this being a positive experience for the always entertaining and watchable Hudgens. She’s already established herself in the Bad Boys franchise with her work in the third movie in the series. Let’s hope that this movie is so good that people can forget the past of its main star (Smith) and the movie’s directors.
