Julianne Nicholson Boards Nicolas Cage Movie

One of the most versatile character actresses working today, Julianne Nicholson, has been cast in the upcoming Nicolas Cage movie, Dream Scenario.

Julianne Nicholson is currently in the running for a potential Oscar nomination for her supporting work in the tremendously intense Netflix movie, Blonde. She has also just been added to the cast of the forthcoming A24 film by filmmaker Kristoffer Borgli called Dream Scenario.

Nicholson won the Emmy for her work in “Mare of Easttown” last year and is possibly headed to the Oscars next year for her performance as Ana de Armas’ Norma Jeane (aka Marilyn Monroe) character’s abusive mom in the very controversial, Blonde. Nicholson was absolutely amazing in the movie and is also featured in another high profile recent project: Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. Nicholson is no stranger to playing complex character roles and was also in the dramatic movies, August Osage County and I, Tonya, among others.

Dream Scenario is an interesting project in itself. It is a comedy being produced by a horror movie legend, Ari Aster (Midsommar). While not much is known about the picture’s plot right now, Nicolas Cage will be assuming a leading role in it and he will be adding another comedy to his resume following the well-received hit, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.

That’s not all, though. Dream Scenario will also feature Superbad alumni Michael Cera in a role as well. Cera has always been a natural born comic actor and his presence in the movie will certainly pique the curiosity of his fans and comedy lovers across the country. The versatile Dylan Baker of 1998’s Todd Solondz masterpiece, Happiness, has also been cast in Dream Scenario which will definitely add star power to the already talent-heavy project.

Julianne Nicholson, however, remains the most valuable player of the cast of the upcoming Nicolas Cage comedy. That’s because Nicholson is a true artist with very much raw emotion and depth found in many of her dramatic roles. She appeared on the hit T.V. show, “E.R.” and first made a major splash on the big screen with back-to-back supporting roles in Little Black Book and Kinsey in 2004.

While it remains to be seen if Nicholson can overcome the provocative nature of her work in the harrowing movie, Blonde, and score an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress, it is easy to say that she’s one of the most talented character actresses working today. If you haven’t seen Blonde yet, check out the movie on Netflix and judge for yourself if the movie is a work of art or something that can be easily ignored. Nicholson is a performer who definitely cannot be ignored, though.
