Jennifer Lopez Owen Wilson Marry Me

Romantic Comedy to Debut on Peacock the Same Day It Hits Theaters

Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson star in Marry Me which will debut on streaming service Peacock the same day it will premiere in movie theaters.

This coming Valentine’s Day weekend, viewers will have the option to watch Marry Me in theaters or on streaming as it is set to premiere on February 11, 2022. Jennifer Lopez and Owen WIlson are set to create sizzling hot chemistry just in time for Valentine’s Day and couples can choose to cuddle at home or head out to their local theater to see Marry Me.

Wes Anderson regular Owen Wilson will play a divorced, “average Joe” math teacher who marries a pop star played by the forever radiant Lopez. Wait. Let me back up. Lopez will be portraying a music icon named Kat Valdez whose latest song is titled “Marry Me;” hence the film’s title. Kat discovers that her music star fiance/business partner Bastian (Maluma) had an affair with someone else and Kat thus chooses an audience member in the crowd at a concert (Wilson) to marry instead. Wilson’s and Lopez’s characters end up forming a bond which will touch the audience’s heart and keep people wondering if these two characters from different worlds will make it as a couple.

Universal Pictures is going to be releasing Marry Me and has decided to make it available on streaming earlier than usual perhaps because more recent adult friendly films haven’t found huge audiences these days in theaters. This strategy worked for this past October’s Halloween Kills and that film managed to find success both on streaming and in theaters with a same day launch on Peacock and in movie theaters.

Lopez has created new songs for Marry Me as well which fans are eager to hear. The trailer for the forthcoming film looks terrific and the movie could be a comedy along the lines of other past Valentine’s Day weekend releases such as 1998’s hit Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore vehicle, The Wedding Singer.

Owen Wilson has recently come off terrific reviews for Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch and Lopez is starring in an upcoming science fiction Netflix film called Atlas. Both movie stars are more well known for their romantic roles of the past in pictures such as Wedding Crashers (for Wilson) and The Wedding Planner (for Lopez).

Weddings are a popular topic for romantic comedies and Marry Me will definitely keep viewers wondering if the two stars of the film’s characters can make their romance work. The film, as previously stated, opens February 11, 2022.
