Weekend Impressions

Horror and Halloween films will be in vogue this weekend. Tyler Perry’s Boo 2! A Madea Halloween will be Number One at the box office this weekend. Boo! A Madea Halloween was a big hit at the box office last year on the same weekend. That film cost $20 Million and made over $74 Million. Lionsgate is most-likely hoping for the same take at the box office for Boo 2! when it finishes its run.

Happy Death Day will be Second this weekend at the box office. Coming off of its surprise victory at the box office last weekend, the horror romp will see a decline in its box office take but it should make enough to hold off most-if-not-all of the mediocre-to-OK new entrants in theaters.

Geostorm will be Third at the box office this weekend. The film looks horrendous but as I said, horror is in vogue right now. No-name, computer-generated people getting killed off in various horrific ways is something that people will groove to while munching popcorn.

Blade Runner 2049 will be Fourth at the box office this weekend.

Only The Brave may be Fifth at the box office over the weekend. The fire curious may turn out for this film, especially with the wildfires that recently raged across Northern California.

This will be the one and only weekend at the box office in which Only The Brave is in the Top Five.
